  1. This following post from @leslie10646 got me thinking about private owner wagons that ran in Ireland: I felt that the topic deserved it's own thread. So, I did a little digging and assembled just a few of the many posts on the topic that are scattered throughout the forum.
  2. OK, you've twisted my arm. Lovely looking chassis on the Prestflo's!
  3. Heljan have thrown their hat back into the TT120 ring: https://railsofsheffield.com/collections/vendors?sort_by=title-ascending&filter.v.price.gte=0&filter.v.price.lte=695&filter.p.m.custom.Scale=TT%3A120 Gauge&q=Heljan Heljan would normally have my goodwill, but in light of @BosKonay's comments on Hornby genuinely being the first to commit, and the others trying to take advantage, in a starke role reversal, I have mixed feelings about this. Reference screenshot from Rails attached.
  4. To my shame, I don’t have them all, just a handful on each format.
  5. Speaking of, not only do I have a few of your DVD’s, I also have a handful of these in the archive!
  6. Anybody tried out any of Ellis Clark’s O Gauge Presflo wagons? A little birdie told me that they’re worth picking up. Very nice looking wagons! They appear to have been in use from the mid fifties until the mid eighties, so would look well behind a nice BR blue diesel.
  7. Don't want to go too far off-topic, as this has been touched on before HERE ON THE FORUM. It would be a good idea, and a nice courtesy, if uploaded images were accompanied by a source url, where not actually taken by the poster. I understand that it my not always be possible - we all have the odd railway related photo on our computer that isn't ours and we can't remember the source. And, in some cases, it's not necessary. For example, an eBay screenshot is going to be blatantly obvious as having come from eBay, and IRM screenshot the same, and so on. A reverse image search in this particular case reveals ONE online source to be: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://twitter.com/gee89n&ved=2ahUKEwjRo6XMqfCMAxUyRPEDHQMRMGMQn5YKegQIERAB&usg=AOvVaw3W9rnWFvoSfy9MlaRWzu6N I can't remember my Twitter password so can't go any further. There's no way of kowing if that is the original source or also a re-publication, but at least we can put in the effort. To do a reverse image search via Google, go to Google Images, click on the camera icon in the search bar, and upload the image that you are trying to find a source for.
  8. @WRENNEIRE and @MOGUL are the bus boys. Quite a few Irish buses on eBay of late, too.
  9. Just catching up. Fabulous photos and videos, @NIRCLASS80!!!
  10. Do the RPSI delete events from their website the moment they occur? I had bookmarked a url for Monday’s trips but nothing appears today on following it.
  11. Eight years ago? Hard for that to sink in. Eight whole years.
  12. I’m not sure on how tweaking the tooling would work in reality, so thought it best to ask. Remember, ‘tis better to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt, than to remain silent and be thought a fool.
  13. Wow, talk about an update! I’m sure it’s given you a new light on priorities and perspectives, and just posting about it here must have taken some courage, never mind the treatment itself. Thinking of you and wishing you the very best, @derek! Thanks for posting.
  14. Bubblicious! Will this batch run on the same chassis as earlier runs, where splitting and packing the chassis, or filing the insides of the axle boxes, is required for 21mm conversion? Or has the clearance been tweaked to make them 21mm-friendly? Great to see Rails of Sheffield retailing them, finally opening up Irish outline to the general UK market. Brilliant move.
  15. Looks like there was one in this Bell liner, too:
  16. This post from @Mol_PMB might be a start: Herpa modelled a Bell tank in 1:87. The running numbers, if prototypical, are legible: BELU-3000420 This photo from @iarnrod shows a different design of Bell tank, looks to be branded "Bell Bulk". Not super clear but might jog the memories of some:
  17. I’m quite sure that somebody posted photos or videos of the Suburban Mk3’s with Intercity branding in their later years. @hexagon789 posted info on some crazy Suburban / Intercity Mk3 consists a few years back.
  18. 7135, 7141 and 7165 from the L149801-2 pack should have a more red shade of orange. 7129, 7151 and 7411 should have a more yellow shade of orange. EDIT: 7135 and 7141 also came in a pack with Mk2D no. 5228, and the two Mk3's in this pack had a more brown shade of orange. The toilet windows were not painted white on these two, but they were in the other packs. Suburban Mk3 coaches have different windows to Mainline Mk3 coaches. Suburban Mk3 coaches ran with the Mk3 DVT and a 121 / 01. Mainline Mk3 coaches ran with an EGV, no DVT. Did they have little drivers cabs at one end?
  19. Received an email from FlickR this evening, which may be of interest to some, as it may affect uploaders and downloaders of IRRS material. This is translated into English using Google Translate, so may be a tiny bit off: Flickr. We're contacting you to inform you about an upcoming change to free Flickr accounts. What's changing: Starting May 15, 2025, Flickr will restrict the download of original and large photos (over 1024 pixels) from free accounts. If you're using a free account, this update applies to both your own content and content shared by other free members. Additionally, videos stored on free accounts will no longer be downloadable once the change takes effect. Why we're making this change: We're addressing the misuse of free accounts as cloud storage for original files, a practice that violates our Terms of Service and negatively impacts the performance and experience of Pro members. By limiting access to original and large downloads from free accounts, we can help preserve the integrity of the platform and continue to provide a high-quality service to our Pro community. What's not changing: Your original files will continue to be stored on Flickr. Medium and small file sizes will still be available for download. This restriction will not apply to Creative Commons-licensed photos (unless they are private). Flickr Commons members are exempt from this change and will retain access to all download sizes. Want to continue accessing original-size downloads? Upgrade to Flickr Pro before May 15th and you'll continue to have uninterrupted access to original and large downloads. As a Pro member, you'll also enjoy unlimited storage, ad-free browsing, and statistics. You can access and download all your content and associated data, including original files, at any time by submitting a request through the Flickr Data section of your account settings page. We understand that this update may impact how you use Flickr, but it's a necessary step to keep our platform healthy, fair, and aligned with our community guidelines. If you have any questions, please contact our Help Center. 20. Any hints about future A/S locos?
  21. Spot on, there. A lot of our conventional wisdom comes from an era when locos weren’t the powerhouses that they are today. The A/S / IRM A Class will probably tackle much much steeper grades, even with heavier loads and more resistance, than a steam loco from twenty years ago. Testing the start/stop on a long plank is a great idea.
  22. Will check my running numbers when home. Pretty sure that one pack has s more yellow shade of orange and one has a more red shade of orange, from the factory. Don’t think there were mixed shades in the same pack.
