Smashing photos and video, @AllThingsDiesel and @Westcorkrailway! What is the plan? To strip / dismantle them inside the shed and store the parts at Whitehead?
-
I’m sure a brown envelope could rectify that. I’ll get working on a list of members who grind my gears.

Ew, not 078, nobody likes 078!

OBB HOe layout "Connafeld"

I wonder if it’s an image format issue? Apple video uploads can take an age to become visible, presumably as the files have to be converted to a more common format. Possibly something similar with the images? We see a temporary preview, but behind the scenes, conversion fails so there’s nothing left? -
@Warbonnet posted on April 9th that the Park Royals were about eight weeks away: Mail-out on Monday 13th saying that they’re estimated in the warehouse on May 29th. So it would be fair to assume that if nothing goes awry, they’ll start shipping orders in June. The real question is what order the orders get shipped in? First paid, first shipped? If so, and you haven’t yet paid, get to the end of the queue!

A quick image search for “DC Models” brings back some unexpected results, but I can understand your interest… DC Models in Hampshire, with smaller, more railway related models, are currently working on their website: https://dc-models.com Really soon or really really soon? Rails of Sheffield flash sales for today: https://railsofsheffield.com/collections/daily-flash-sales I like the look of that Windhoff MPV.

After a little digging, it looks like at the very least, Otto-Mobile have done the Citroen CX several times, and MCG and Norev both currently have a few models out there, in 1:18 scale. Salvat and Hachette do them in 1:24 scale. IXO, Solido, Neo, Norev and Minichamps / Maxichamps all do them in O Gauge / 1:43 scale. Salvat and Altaya have both done them in O Gauge, too. Premium Classixxs and Norev both do them in 1:87 scale, as did Revell. There was a crude looking 1/76 one, looked kind if like the cars you got with the car transporter wagons 40 years ago, that skilled hands could probably do a decent job of.

When I was looking for donors a couple of years ago, maybe three or four years back, to go grey, 082 and 085 were the easiest to find. 071 was impossible to source, as was 077. Going back another few years before that, 077 and 078 were the elusive pair, equally hard to track down. So on the IE liveries, the factory-weathered largo logo 085 was the least popular, 077 and 078 were both the same. I recall people here on the forum counting themselves lucky to find both 077 and 078.
-
I doubt that, given the scarcity of 071’s in general. If somebody is looking for a donor to re-spray into grey, then 071, 077, 082, and 085 are ALL ideal donors. I don’t think that the weathering on 085 bears any weight if it’s a re-spray donor. I have not yet seen any indication that there is less demand for 078 than there is for 077.
-
So 078 in IE livery doesn’t count as IE livery because of the marker lights?
-
They should have listed them for pre-order, or at the very least sent out a mail. Too late now, for me.
-
And 078. There were three. Sounds like there’s something to see!
-
Finished at almost €650, but was less than €300 a few hours before finishing. Lot of red mist floating around. I guess some folk are assuming that there’ll never be an 071 again, with the passing of Paddy Murphy, but…..

Otto-Mobile have done a good few Citroen CX models over the years: https://otto-models.com/es/busqueda?controller=search&order=product.reference.asc&s=Cx Truth be told, after so many years down here, left hand drive now looks “normal” to me and right hand drive cars stick out a mile away.

The orange IE era would probably be the most in demand for the 071 Class. Think that there were three released in that livery, two large logo and one small logo. EDIT: Yup, 077 large logo, 078 small logo and 085 large logo weathered, were the three 071’s from that era. From a nostalgia perspective, I’d hazard a guess that these three hit the sweet spot. When IRM / A/S released the A Class, if memory serves me correctly, the black and orange (I can’t bring myself to call them black and tan due to negative connections) livery, and the latest IR liveries, were quickest to sell out. SuperTrain was a bit slower to sell, and the silvers and greens were the slowest.

How’d you twist his arm? You have some dirt on him???
-
With that in mind… Any chance you could build an O Gauge 071, first?

Where are you getting your transfers?

I’ve seen this with a lot of @Arran’s C-Rail posts, too. The images disappear after a while and there’s just a text description of “may be an image of…” instead. -
If only there were a way to combine FOMO and SABLE purchases to reduce both stockpiles…

Or an O Gauge 071!!! When it comes to UK outline O Gauge, one Class 37 and one InterCity Executive loco are probably sufficient:

Think I’ll keep my powder dry and see what @MOGUL has in store for the Heljan website…
-
I don’t think the majority of layouts are ever truly finished, they just keep evolving.
