This would be better for an MSC layout: https://railsofsheffield.com/products/dapol-7d-066-003-class-66-709-gbrf-sorrento-msc-livery-diesel-locomotive

All of the categories that I’m hunting are there, just empty. One for the collectors, maybe: https://www.ebay.es/itm/336541801982 Lima CIE livery Class 33, reference 8015M, unboxed, €80.

Had never heard of Gauge 3 before seeing this: https://www.ebay.es/itm/135523422533 And a little digging revealed: https://www.gauge3.org.uk/ And: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gauge_3_Railways Among many other links, of course. 1:22,5 or 1:24 scale trains on 64mm gauge track. They must look bonkers up close and personal. Some talk about O Gauge / 1:43 being too big, and Gauge 1 / 1:32 being beyond consideration, but Gauge 3 has to be about as big as one can go before ride-on scale! I have one or two 1:24 trucks in the office, and they are insane compared to the 1:43 trucks at home.

A sixth Class 45, diesel depot ends and a plethora of CCT’s. Rotterdam or anywhere…

A campaign has started on You Tube to support local model shops

Well, is that not ironic??? Likewise, some of Jenny’s videos are enjoyable, but that crazy cringey tantrumy one was anything but… Same, InterCity Executive Class 47 in OO Gauge sitting at Customs up in Madrid right now. A streamlined A4 with more pulling power would be lovely! -
Look at those O Gauge diesels! https://railsofsheffield.com/collections/daily-flash-sales That Class 50! 🫛 Now, I’ll be kicking myself if we never get the 50’s on the Heljan website…
-
Two O Gauge steam locos on offer today: https://railsofsheffield.com/collections/daily-flash-sales Can’t help but wonder if that CCT would double up as something Irish. I’m sure that @jhb171achill will be along shortly to put that notion to sleep!

I have no problem with people posting on YouTube. I don’t feel that I’m being told what to think. Everybody has a place in the model railway world. I could sit back and watch an hour of @ttc0169’s YouTube videos before I could handle ten minutes of somebody talking about trains rather than showing trains. My problem arises when there is no analytical or critical thinking. I didn’t have much faith in the campaign being genuine from the get-go, as was probably evident, and I’d love to be proven wrong. Hard to measure the impact or success as the objectives were never laid out in the first place, neither in the original pre-edited post, nor in the vastly redacted version visible today. -
Model Railway Emporium have three Murphy Models 141’s from the ORIGINAL run, with the quieter, smoother motors. They originally had the three around €170 each, which I thought was very cheap for the original run, but today, two of the three have gone up to €195. https://www.ebay.es/itm/287276074944 https://www.ebay.es/itm/277899934693 https://www.ebay.es/itm/287276073475 Only my personal opinion on valuing the first generation over the second, nothing more.

Just wondering if the OP has anything to add to the thread. A bit of time has passed, the dust and knee-jerk reactions have settled, so an update on the campaign would be pertinent. My understanding at the time was that the campaigners wanted Heljan to carry on as normal until they were bled dry. As Jenny Kirk said, Accurascale should put their hands up, say they were wrong, and roll back their decision… Not my opinion, just repeating it for context. -
Clicking on the detailed description for any of the Park Royal coaches on the A/S website tells you which period that coach ran. For example: https://www.accurascale.ie/products/park-royal-d-176-suburban-no-1413?shpxid=7394ee96-c3cd-4cf5-bccd-2ed961682b34

Your friendly neighbourhood model shop!

Cheapest that I can remember ever seeing an O Gauge steam loco, the EFE Rail Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0 at Rails of Sheffield: https://railsofsheffield.com/collections/daily-flash-sales That three-car NSE DMU is also lovely, as is the RTC livery Class 24. Not sure if the Oxford Rail J26 or the Bachmann Class 158 would make suitable re-spray donors for anything Irish?
-
I’ll start taking donations here on the forum. €1000 buys you a plaque on the loco… €2000 buys you a bigger plaque… €5000 buys you an even bigger plaque and two weeks free accommodation!
-
What sort of price do IE sell off their retired locos for? In a few years time, we’ll be saying goodbye to a very small fleet of only 18 071 Class locos. It’d be nice to see them not get chopped up, but if the scrap value is the best that IE can get, they can’t stick all 18 into storage.
-
And it is @Irish Rail‘s Fingal Harbour where there’s a 141 masquerading as 082, and very nicely done at that;
-
And 201 Class no. 213 in IE freight grey:
-
It was Ballykay where there were photos of the silver and black 141 and freight grey 201, I think, but the photos were lost when Photobucket wiped everything. This NorthernBlue 071 was posted in the same thread:
-
I was wrong. @Stoby posted a picture if his Class 60 in IE freight grey HERE.
-
NorthernBlue has done loads, and several have been posted in different threads over the years. A good few years back, somebody shared pics of their 141 in engineer’s silver and black livery, but I can’t remember who. Somebody, possibly @Davenport, but I’m not sure, posted pics of something like a Class 67 in IE freight grey. In the Inchicore anniversary thread, there’s a pic of a 201 in IE freight grey, too.
-
Quick bump for this thread as @Mol_PMB has some nice fictional A Class liveries posted here. I reckon BR blue without the full yellow face would look nice.
