No it's all continental at the moment, the extension will have an airport but that's as far as planning has gone. It's down to funding, the main guy was not there today so I left my card and offered my help. They need help and guidance as it's just two guys doing this at the moment as they lost most of the volunteers. I would be great to see this finished and it's a great attraction at the minute, they get 40 to 60 visitors a day.

I visited the Boyle Model Railway today while on holidays. Spoke to one of the guys and they have got planning permission to move into the courthouse in Boyle this September. They plan to increase the size of the layout to 3 times bigger then it is now. Here's a few pics.

Nice work so far, love the viaduct. The makings of a fine layout. Keep the updates coming

Lovely work John, I love the way you have the loose sleepers before the point.

Jasus, that's a monster!

I am willing to help in any way I can. It's such a shame that it has been left in storage for so long and the longer it stays that way the less will be done about it. We do need to take positive action to save it.

Looks great David, good presentation. Best of luck with it.

Looks lovely, some nice sloping embankments either side would look the business!

E link is a good system, but it's only rated at 1 amp so it limits the amount of locos you can run at the same time.
-
Ebay, I got 20 of them quite cheap

You will need the old kinder egg Sean as the new ones are not the right shape.

Great stuff indeed, is that a viaduct in the background I spy? More pics!

The 141 is such a smooth runner, and very powerful too.

No such thing a a dopey question if you don't know the answer! An 071 will go around a Hornby radius 1 but it is very tight, a 201 won't. 605 is radius 1, 371mm radius. If you use flex track you could increase the radius a bit. Hope this helps.

Yes, the paint seals it just use standard emulsion paint once dry apply PVA to glue the scenery. You can also sand the foam to shape.

Hi Sean, I use pink foam available from Woodies for €9.99 a sheet of 1200mm x 600mm x 60mm deep. Glue it together with PVA and shape it with a carving knife. You can paint it dark green then apply scenery.

Nice work Roy, whats the total size?
