  1. That's fantastic, love his sanding booth.
  2. No I haven't, I have 3 of them fitted to Kato locos and they run fine.
  3. Wow, that's a stunner! The container is superb.
  4. Thanks Lads, it's a great piece of kit. I like the different size paint cups and it can paint some very fine lines. I'll mostly use it for track work.
  5. Ta, the airbrush I got off ebay with a filter regulator links below. Went for a middle of the road airbrush, very happy with it. The static grass is a blend of a few different types to get the shading right. http://www.ebay.ie/itm/331225196182?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 http://www.ebay.ie/itm/161254775887?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
  6. Well after a long, long time I took the plunge and bought an airbrush a few months ago. Finally got around to put it to some use. Ahem, no laughing please as its my first attempt. Did a bit of track weathering today on a layout I built for a customer.
  7. Welcome back, looking forward to seeing the updates.
  8. Here is a couple of pics from a layout I am currently working on showing the start of the slope. Locos climb effortlessly
  9. Nothing to apologise for Nelson, its a stunning job. Did you cast the white metal yourself?
  10. Murphy Models do the sound chip for the 071 for €120 and the 141 needs a speaker fitted and the chip is available from the model shop in Belfast
  11. Hattons do there own range of DCC decoders, I have used quite a few of them and find them reliable and very competitively priced. 12. Very clever, the simplest ideas are always the best!
  13. The transition from flat needs to be very gentle, the track will bend no problem.
  14. Lovely stuff Noel, welcome to the forum. Looks like a big layout. Keep us posted of your progress
  15. Lovely scene Eamonn
  16. They look great, the detail is fantastic
  17. You Tube is a great source of information, I also have a few books and I keep magazines as their are great tutorials in them. The best way to learn is to get stuck in, start with a small diorama and develop from there. You will quickly learn what works and what doesn't.
  18. Not sure Sean, I'm not experienced on weathering.
  19. Looks great Sean, you did a good job on them. Did you dry brush them?
  20. Very nice Sean.
  21. Amazing job, paintwork is spot on. Well done
  22. Welcome to the site, nice and dirty, just how I like em.
  23. Great advise, I do that all the time and have saved on postage. Another thing I do is use parcel motel when ordering from the UK that offer free Uk postage or will only post to UK. It only costs €3.95 per parcel. I buy paint in this way as UK shops won't post paint to Ireland. More info here http://www.parcelmotel.com/
  24. They look great, where did you get the fencing, looks really well.
  25. Nice shots spudfan, a part of Ireland's forgotten railways. Love the converted tractor.
