    NEW 00 WORKS J15

At the recent MRSI 3 Day show in Raheny I ran my 2 J15's on out "Castletown" layout When I bought them I ran both in for around 30 mins in each direction I had them professionally chipped and they were put away for the show Ran them both on the Saturday, one in each direction for 20 - 30 mins, then rested while I ran a 121 and did some shunting On the Sunday at about 2 PM the Black J15 stopped suddenly and gave up the ghost, about an hour later the Grey followed suit The instructions stated that DCCing the locos would nullify the warranty so I have given them to a fellow member of the club who has previous convictions for fixing stuff! I have been offered any spare parts by Roderick so all is not lost yet One thing he said though that I should mention is that the locos are not suitable for very long running His gearbox has mostly metal parts and needs to be rested between runnings

  18. Had terrible trouble with 2 OO Works J15's Considering what was paid for them and further expense having them DCC fitted and weathered I would not be recommending these models for exhibitions Ran them in when they were purchased for 20 mins in both directions and then had the work carried out They were run , with short breaks in between, for about 2 hours on Saturday before showing signs of failure Again on Sunday more trouble, look liked the locos had completely seized In between we ran some of MM's 121's with no problems at all Really really disappointed with these OO works models
  19. Just back from Dublin Port, T10 to be exact Some really bad news people Chris Dyer has had his van seized by customs because of some i not dotted and a really horrible female customs official No problem with UK customs coming over As a result he will be returning to the UK in the morning and therefore will not be in a position to attend the show He hopes to return in December so if anyone was looking for anything in particular talk to me over the weekend and I will pass on your requirements I may have a few of his bits at the show but nothing like we hoped to have God bless Brexit
