A real bargain Or a really good laugh Dropped into a certain shop on Capel Street this afternoon Saw an Irish Class 33 & 3 Mk 1 coaches, 00 gauge, in a glass case Being of a certain ilk I asked the proprietor perchance did he have a box to go with these items? I am then brought to a shelf where I am presented with half a box with dubious content All reference numbers are removed Box lid indicates the items are HO How much, says I €400. says he, without a flinch In my best English I try to explain to the retailer what the problems are with the set Loco & Coaches are OO. Box says HO, Irish set never came with a coach cleaning apparatus etc He then went on to tell me that it was a Christmas issue in the mid eighties etc I would say they could hear the door slamming in Heuston when I departed his euphonium

Did the Irish TPO's have bag snatchers like in the first pic? Have never seen the gantry for these on an Irish station platform.

A starter train set was one of the final items to issue during Murphy Models best period for new outline models This set was the 15th of 17 new items issued during 2001, and was released in December Its the River Tolka set with 2 x unnumbered Mk 3 coaches L105500XO5 Only 300 issued, and because there is a cut out building on the rear of the box it makes a boxed example of this set a little rarer than the rest.

If you are using Peco points there are additional switches available that can indicate the point direction I will dig up a couple of pics later
