  1. Once again I must tell you that PM had no hand act or part in the production of the earlier Cl 33's in Irish livery If you bothered to read the Lima/Murphy thread you would see the history behind them Before he produced the 201's he was offered a Cl 33 , 015 in IE Livery by the Lima factory and this loco appeared in a couple of sets and also individually boxed, point to note no exhaust detail on the roof It was because of this Cl 33 that the Lima 201 appeared It is not a paperweight but a superb model for its day and still an acceptable one And your Cl 33's are not worthless, sold a lovely boxed one recently for €100

  17. Once again you have failed to mention McGowan models who produced many of the locos that ran in the Malahide layout Tommy Tighe was responsible for many of the buildings and I think Des McGlynn made the narrow gauge loco and stock Just sayin like....
  18. Saved from the bid While dumpind some bits today I found this ad Came from an early Railway Modeller And as the gods would have it something very interesting (to me) on the reverse Love the lunch hour 1.30 pm - 3pm, hope Bosko takes note Fran. This is an ad for the Wrenn 152 set ( 1:52?) At the time Wrenn amalgamated with Tri Ang they were producing these sets Unfortunatly Tri Ang had just bought Scalex who made a tin plate racing car set. They decided to replace the tin with plastic and so part of the deal with Wrenn was that they ceased production of the 152 set, which was a far superior set at that time If you look at the ad you will see a deflector section, which allowed overtaking while racing They were made in both DC & AC Some 152 pics before Wrennexit! Oops, forgot these
  19. A Brexiteer me thinks
  20. This is a Lledo T2 model commissioned by An Post Split screen and Irish reg Some nice info on the card
  21. Wuhan would appear to be a long way from where the IRM models are manufactured, it is in central China. The following info about the virus would suggest that we should not be worried about it, there are no doornobs on the Ferts! Sometimes, but not often, a coronavirus can infect both animals and humans. Most coronaviruses spread the same way other cold-causing viruses do, through infected people coughing and sneezing, by touching an infected person's hands or face, or by touching things such as doorknobs that infected people have touched.
  22. Arrived this morning from the USA Bought on eBay and when I won the auction, at considerable expense, the seller tells me he does not do International postage and wants to cancel the sale. So after a few calls to a fellow collector in Texas,( Thanks P) I managed to get him to post to Texas and then they were forwarded to D05 On page 22 there is a picture of the O Gauge Sundries wagon in a first issue box, ref no 6711 This wagon is in a later issue box and carries a 31 prefix, so its 31 6711 I wasn't aware of this new numbered wagon previously, so now the hunt is on for any others This collecting is tough work people. For the non Specksavered ones among us there is some foreign instructions on this box that does not appear in the original one
  23. You only die once George, you live every day.....
