While it is true that OOn3 never has achieved the same popularity as 009 it is not true that no one has introduced ready to run OOn3. Also while Branchlines has produced kits for OOn3 Pete McParlin was the proprietor of Backwoods Miniatures (Also made kits for OOn3 as well as 009 , On30, On3 and O-16.5) and yes he did cut down his OOn3 range to concentrate on the 009 and the On30 that were better sellers. RTR OOn3 (while not a large producer) has been made by Malcolm Mills ( Back in 1993 ) at that time he also made resin/nickel silver etch kits for TT and the IOM/MNR Beyer Peacocks and Dubs locos He now concentrates on kit building services in O and Gauge A RTR West Clare/CDR/IOM Walker Railcar could be obtained for the price of £74 (The IOM loco kits being priced at £24 The Walker Railcar was not available at that time as a kit and he never ran any more parts) I must admit that I did not purchase 1 ( Nor have ever seen 1 for that matter ) but a phone call conversation with Malcolm reveals he made about 2 dozen and they were slow to sell. I have now got 2 of the Small tank versions of the Peacock kits he made and a Dubs "Caledonia" Is there any chance of these being done again ? NO. All the 00n3 masters and moulds were unceremoniously thrown in a skip when he had a tidy up / clear out of his workshop.

Can;t say what yet but had an email from Nev yesterday, "Things are moving with Backwoods so should be something to see at Mansfield, all the best, Nev" So am looking forward to our show "Narrow Gauge Now" (And I promise I will not be on the IOM this year)

Watching all, bar the French Billard, (Just not interested!) and the Worsley Walker loco and the CDR Railcar 6/7/8 (I have 3 of each of them!) Another seller who does not know what he has. (How/Why do you think the ex D.B.S.T listing got changed?) Still putting them all as Backwoods, even though the lots include GEM (IOM Loco kit on Branchlines chassis). Worsley (Walker Loco and afore mentioned Railcar). Branchlines (Coaches), VM (Billard Railcar). Not going to bother telling him as he pulled the Ex D.B.S.T when I sent him a captioned photo and Worsley price list link. Re the coaches, Anyone positively identify the 2 on the left in the picture of all 5? (Colours are throwing me off a little) CVR Bogie 1st Branchlines ? ? ? T & D Bogie 3rd Branchlines ? ? ? I O M 6 Comp All 3rd Branchlines

Not just Mr Rainsbury.

Along with the fire exit idea, google maps has a measure distance feature so you can get length and width pretty easily as long as there are set area's of roof (and not an overall canopy)

As I said I print oversize. Yes you do get a bit of white when you cut But I place the cut edge where I am going to paint. I have some bits around, I'll take photos.

@murphaph As I've done this before, I can say it will work with inkjets. Print the sheet, wait 48 hours, waft with a spray of sealer, and again once applied. If you look at the advert you can read their instructions. Other suppliers are available.

The above assumes that you are using clear film for printing your transfers on. You can get white, then you set your letters/design as white or other colour on your draft and the background to the colour of the loco, coach, wagon as required. You can go full size to the side if you like and trim to the edge. then just paint the roof/ends over the transfer cut eg, TransOurDream Tru-Water Slide Decal Paper Inkjet White 10 Sheets A4 Water Transfer Paper for Inkjet Printer Printable Water Slide Decals for Mugs, Tumblers, Glasses,DIY Candles(TRANS-019) : Amazon.co.uk: Stationery & Office Supplies

If it is an Irish buyer, depending on location, have a day out and pick them up. No Postage or tax and fees could make it worth it. I once did a 250 mile round trip for 2 wall display cabinets, They were collection only. But that must have put others off as my £5 starting bid won. Picture Pride but the ones I got were the dearer mirrored versions.

I know when I've had to work next to the East Coast Mainline (Albeit Just on the Public side of the fence, even if itself had been bent a wee bit.) The Response crew watched what I was doing very closely. And every time something came past.

If I was on the Hiab control's I'd be hoping the bloody Overhead is off.

Cheap motor connection wires......... Go to your local charity shop and get a couple of the old Scart leads take home and strip. Desoldering braid, can be obtained by stripping old Coax aerial lead. Scale fuel delivery hose, Thin shoelaces Caravan thin plastic fly screen works as various in different scales, chain link fence etc, cutting off a single line makes barbed wire. Concrete rebar in N Old window blinds, The curved metal ones coach and van rooves, the more modern wooden ones lots of thin hardwood. Fishing line lots of uses just ask your local angler for old part spools. Dettol makes a good paint stripper but is more forgiving on plastic.

Thing is I've met Portillo during the making of one of the UK episodes. I was on the team providing the vintage transport for the day. I was not impressed at his general Aire of aloofness over us mere mortals and generally expecting things he asked for to be done. Edit Like driving the wrong way down a one way single track estate road (still open to public coming the correct way) as it "put a better background in shot"

What gauge and how many axles?
-
Yes As he says he knows what it is. A money tree if somebody is stupid enough to buy it. like the seller "Gostude" any item that is not boxed and fully documented or has an R number is obviously Rare and expensive. But really they do not have a clue. Just look at his listed OO TT 009 items (all describing same thing?) even if they are old (1960s) Gem 5.5 items.

He doesn't seem to be getting the message.
