  1. I'd say she'll be tested on a liner before long. I'm also assuming 'Enterprise' will be written on her somewhere?
  2. Still hate the yellow front. Makes it look like it's mentally challenged.
  3. Lovely job!
  4. We're the ones with 'Super Moderator' written under our names. Currently it's myself, Garfield and Boskonay.
  5. think they've had a prototype on show. Hornby doing one too but Oxford should beat them to the punch. Also doing some private owner wagons.
  6. oh for a time machine!
  7. Absolutely. Nothing happens till that lot gets sold.
  8. 121 is next in line for PM.
  9. Yes the US loading gauge is much bigger than ours.
  10. They ran here for over 50 years. 121s were the first locos built by GM for Ireland and this was the livery they were delivered in. They soon went into black and tan livery. They were mainline engines, not shunters.
  11. Great to see 800 in full flight in my home town JHB. Sadly things just arent as exciting here today. Oddly enough I was thinking what it must've been like with the big three Queens running through here today when I took this... 22 335 Clondalkin by franburke, on Flickr
  12. Heljan 58 might work well as a chassis donor. I know of someone who scratchbuilt one to that chassis.
  13. Jonathan Swift is still chugging along.
  14. So that's Dun Laoghaire dead as a port? Pity. I think the HSS was getting long in the tooth at this stage? Wonder what will happen to her.
  15. Yeah I'd stick with the Antex or Weller myself.
  16. GNRI railcar livery would be nice!
  17. Lads, read the rules; No politics. No exceptions. There's plenty of other places to put the world to rights. Thanks.
  18. Top job Richie. I saw a rake of them running last night. In all honesty the orange/tan/whatever looks much better in the flesh. I would implore anyone to have a look at them in their hand before deciding against them. Weathering as Glenderg has shown will make them even better.
  19. Just out, might be of interest to some http://www.ehattons.com/StockDetail.aspx?SID=73997&utm_source=OOGaugeNewsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20150128
  20. Amazing that no 4mm Fodens of that era kicking about considering their popularity in the UK. Always had a soft spot for them myself. Now if someone would do a Hino, an essential vehicle for an Irish layout late 70s onwards!
  21. Maybe check out some American detail crows like Cannon and Co. Might be able to adapt something. I know they do replacement fan grills and chickenwire grills for early SDs. Worth a look although HO of course. Other option is email Paddy Murphy and blag them as spares?
  22. Yeah have one somewhere. Think I had a red one and a yellow diesel too. I was a big matchbox fan as a lad.
  23. You could use the new Hornby or forthcoming bachmann air con coaches as respray donors. Not 100% accurate but cheaper. Alternatively maybe one of the respray gang will do you a deal on a bulk order of that size.
