  1. Im happy with 4 function in mine as the cab lights on MM locos look like a sun bed. Awful!
  2. See here http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/4070-131-s-boiler-in-steam
  3. I'd say a few could be nailed back together using parts from the others currently in story, a half dozen good ones out of a dozen demics. EMD parts easy to get too. But since the work aint there they'll just continue to sit in the weeds I guess?
  4. To be pedantic they aint locos. I think they look quite well BTW.
  5. Because there is no work for them. Who knows what IE will be buying in 30 years time.
  6. Why would they buy new locos until existing ones need to be replaced and plenty are lying out of use in Inchicore?
  7. having used Euston as a commuter for a brief period it was pretty bad from a usability standpoint too. Everyone would stand in the middle, watch the board and then run down narrow corridors for their respective train. Like a load of steaks into a mincer!
  8. And from this http://www.building.co.uk/Pictures/web/x/f/q/euston_355.jpg to this http://www.dailydooh.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/e-motion_emailablesmallersize.jpg
  9. Too right, what they did to Euston in the 60s was a thundering disgrace!
  10. I'm sorry but I have to take exception to 3, brunch ice pops were sensational! I miss fat frogs more though.
  11. Our volunteers have done well to keep them alive in preservation. They're constantly crying out for volunteers. Instead of wishing history from 50 years ago could be changed the future of what's left is the most important consideration right now.
  12. And 20 times the population. There is little interest in industrial heritage in this country sadly.
  13. Still don't think it would've made much of a difference. Only so much can be saved, looked after properly by enough manpower that's interested in working for free etc. you're dealing in little more than assumptions to be honest.
  14. Steams problem wasn't turf, it was diesel and electric. The new forms of traction killed steam stone dead. Turf power was just tinkering with outdated technology. Additional coal supplies would've made no difference in steam preservation as far as I can see. Old hat technology, died out in line with the rest of the developed world.
  15. Cheers Noel, will have to have a proper gander.
  16. Nice job Noel. Be great to see the actual responses filed under the 'other' columns if possible?
  17. Cheers lads, have had invaluable help along the way and really happy with how it's turning out so far. Rivets is the next step Richie! Just need to figure out how many and their pattern! Should have them done in the next progress report hopefully.
  18. Only a little bit of additional work done this week. Front boxes added, body attached to plate although it still needs adjustment (and lots of cleaning up!) Boiler still to be attached.
  19. How many functions does the hattons chip have? It might not have enough for the 201.
  20. The 28 doesn't have the same fine scale wheel sets DP2 has (I have both). It's throughly recommended and if you're disappointed with it I'll take it off your hands . Under frame detail is a tad fragile but beautifully done so be careful!
  21. 14, 15, 16, 17, 23, 26, 27, 28, 33, 35, 47, 52, falcon, kestrel, lion, diesel parcels unit and a couple of rail buses off the top of my head.
  22. Have around 25 heljan locos myself and all are beautiful runners. One of which is DP2 which I've not had problems with so far but radius of curves may play a part. Only problem I've had is with the hattons garratt which is a pity as it was the most impressive Brit outline steam loco I've ever seen running until one of the motors burned out! Still, occasional issues can happen and it was replaced so I was happy enough. Mind you I watched a 141 run the other night and they're fabulous runners. One of the best. I've been less than impressed with the 201s but that's just me.
  23. Last time you had a pop at another manufacturer on here I was told that you were nothing to do with the modelling manufacturing part of that and that was down to David. So which is it? Is that really the best you can come up with? Yes, I did buy them, and it's all I have bought to be honest for my own reasons. Anyway, you've dragged this way off topic once again. It has also been decided by the mod team that you should have a week off after your earlier attack on junior members of the site in your previous posts on this topic. See you next Friday.
  24. So what's the difference between that film and the above that you're complaining about?
