  1. I'm really, really tempted by the Atlantic in LNER it has to be said...
  2. A bit out of my era of interest (okay, a lot!). Cool choice though. Dont think Rapido has done a steam loco before, be interesting to see what they produce. Cant wait for my APT!
  3. The only way you develop skills is by practicing. Read and watch some tutorials, give them a go. If they dont work, learn from where you went wrong and try again. You dont have to become a master, just happy with your efforts and have the desire to improve.
  4. No problem K, glad to be of help. Hopefully normal service shall be resumed soon.
  5. This might answer your query http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/94518-craftsman-models/
  6. One of the lads down the MRSI did this up out of the SSM kit. Knocks the spots off Silverfox for me. I believe he takes commissions.
  7. I heard we're getting sulzers made in brass from Anjin, 250 of each limited editions. Driver in Heuston told me.
  8. You'd be surprised at how cheap these things can be picked up for 2nd hand at shows and/or on EBay... .
  9. I'm not sure what drugs you were on to want to paint a caley pug in UP colours but fair play! If you do want transfers then micro scale are your friend! http://www.microscale.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=UP
  10. Cheers Eamon, will take the SD bodies off you if that's okay? Will send you a PM.
  11. Is the SD7 (Southern one) a Proto 2000 body? Might be interested if it is.
  12. Nice! Should have plenty of room to run some American freight
  13. Erm, I have little knowledge of the French stuff. These fellas! CP (Comboios de Portugal) 1900 Series Diesel Locomotive, Poceirão, Portugal by Pantufa, on Flickr
  14. They're quite similar alright. Are the big French diesels that ran in Portugal gone now too? They always sounded impressive, 56esque and 071 levels of noise.
  15. Cheers fellas, it's been an enjoyable learning curve at least.
  16. Dole isnt too bad either. Money isnt great but you cant argue with the hours...
  17. Not yet man, chassis needs some work first. Need to do my research. Will be using slaters wheels anyway, need to get them ordered!
  18. The MRSI hosted an open day for the public and a gathering for Gauge O Guild members yesterday. Some nice Irish and British O Gauge models on show. Some crappy pics taken on my phone... Alphagraphix Bandon Tank and coaches LMS Coaches Scratchbuilt 800 class discussed elsewhere on the site this week Leinster Models LNER Atlantic (Have an unbuilt kit on its way to me!) Scratchbuilt GNRI tank Good to meet some site members yesterday!
  19. Progress continues on the O Gauge J26. Started to run out of talent a bit especially around the splashers but thankfully the men in the MRSI were able to show me the way! Some 'riveting' rivet detail... There was no boiler bands in the kit so I'm going to have to get my thinking cap on about that one. Work on the detailing will come next as well as the running gear but first a lot of cleaning up is required as you can see. Beading needs to be completed and tided up too.
  20. They're perspex around my way, think they learnt from their mistakes!
  21. Very nice bos, even down to the homeless proof worlds most uncomfortable benches in the shelter!
  22. Nice shots, I believe the English electric loco is basically a class 20 in a different body. They used to have a small fleet of locos closely related to class 50s too. I think their Alcos are gone now too?
  23. €15,000 including delivery apparently. Think I'll stick with Hornby.
  24. Anyone know what station it came from?
