  1. Wild Star Wars Christmas Party breaking out in D.22...
  2. Happy Christmas one and all!
  3. I must add my favourite two from the champion that is Malcolm Tucker. "If some **** can **** something up, that **** will pick the worst possible time to ****ing **** it up cause that ****'s a ****." If you want to see what the stars represent, see below; I had an incident of that in work earlier this week. And it's so true! And, the best analogy (okay, not a quote as such, but infinitely quotable) I have ever heard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5iRmPBve80 Bad language is a guarantee.
  4. I know they're both Mark IIs but it's not really comparing like with like. The MM coaches are specifically Irish, with the detail unique to IE and made in much smaller numbers. They also have a lot more separately applied detail and have nicer detail in areas such as the ends (a weakpoint of the old Airfix Mark II in my opinion). I agree though that the Murphys coaches have their problems (I gave out enough about them when they came out). Robert just put up a link on the bargain thread of a Bachmann Mark I for a tenner. With nicer detail than the Hornby coach that shows stunning value. Mind you if you're happy to paint up a rake of the Hornby Mark IIs then happy days! I'd shop around and pick up a rake second hand though, save yourself a fortune!
  5. I think that's a scandalous price personally! I've bought Bachmann Mark I's for almost a third of that price. An all singing, all dancing BR Mark II aircon range would be super. Over to you, Bachmann.
  6. Yep, the A4s look great in the case, I know A4Mallard will be lusting after those. Large Logo 56 is a must for me, finally. The Sentinel is a great choice, lots of colourful livery possibilities, small industrial layouts etc. Still no sector 60s, maybe next year.
  7. Full range here http://www.rmweb.co.uk/Hornby2013/Hornby_announcements_2013.pdf Sentinel looks nice. P2 and Duke for me, two of my favourite kettles of all time.
  8. There is an embargo Rich, Monday at 12pm apparently. However, as per usual the info seems to have leaked. Apparently there'll be a sentinel industrial diesel shunter and a 2-BIL unit too for the D&E end. No idea on modern rolling stock. Those Mark II air cons and decent class 59 are still elusive. Hopefully Bachmann will look after them come March.
  9. What happens if the meat is a little too close to the veg?
  10. Hornby plan to announce their 2013 range on Monday at midday. It will be interesting to see if they have a year of consolidation or if they bring out some new locos. If internet rumours are to be believed the range has been leaked all ready and if the rumours are true then I'm going to be shelling out for a LNER P2 in original guise and a Duke of Gloucester. I hope the rumours are true!

    Family bereavement .

Very sorry to hear of your loss Anto.
  12. With Varadkar deciding to withhold the subvention for CIE with the EU privatisation was always on the cards. Lets hope we handle it better than GB did.
  13. Must agree, saw the 1st part last night and it was very enjoyable. Almost has me yearning for a bit of narrow gauge. I wonder if the Bord na Mona lines ever went would there be such a drive to preserve them?
  14. While I can't answer you regarding the best fit, the Bachmann will be the best runner. The Lima and the Hornby are the same chassis, but the Hornby will have a smoother running motor and should be DCC ready.
  15. What a top job. Well done on that!
  16. I did well to walk out of there without a challenger. Now that's restraint!
  17. I use halfords brake fluid myself. Put it in a bath of it for 24 hours or so, then scrub off with an old toothbrush.
  18. Quick note to say well done to the organisers. It was a fantastic fair I have to say, better than any Clontarf gig I had been to. Good venue, loads of stuff on offer and very good prices too. Well done to all involved!
  19. That's a serious amount of Lima, if a tad on the pricey side!
  20. Mainline would be early 80s too. It went on to become the Bachmann range around 1990. Would imagine that it would be cheap as chips too, maybe worth slightly more than the Lima set but Dave I'm sure would confirm for you.
  21. 46A will drop you outside.
  22. Have we mentioned this one before? If not, dream on. haha http://www.adverts.ie/crazy-random-stuff/lima-train-engines-carriage-and-tanker/109281
  23. Believe or not lifting rings aren't really used on British diesels. I'm struggling to think of any in fact!
  24. Aha, thought they were different all right. They look better than the Silver Fox ones to me. I wonder is the Silver Fox ones to scale, or made to suit the wheelbase of the donor bogies? Sorry for dragging your thread off topic. Lifting rings, would these be of use? HO for US diesels, but at this size scale would be negligible http://www.ebay.com/itm/Detail-Associates-HO-1101-Lift-Rings-18-/230851345358 I have bought plenty off this Ebay shop in the past, very good service.
