  1. Looks very well in IRM towers now!
  2. Amazing to see that our first loco project, the A Class, is over 20% sold out already! We are due a first tooling sample in mid September, and we think it will be evident at how special these beauties will be then! As you can see below, it's going to be well worth the wait!
  3. Hi, can you email us at support@irishrailwaymodels.com about this issue so we can look into it? Cheers!
  4. correct!
  5. Hi everyone, While we were off air we got a sample of our CIE 20ft containers. We are assessing them at the moment and have some amendments to make, but moving in the right direction! We will have better pics once I get the sample back off our technical director! Cheers! Fran
  6. As Jason says above, these would be the ivory liveried bubbles, painted in that livery from around 1980 and stayed in that livery until the were withdrawn in 2008. We have evidence of 6 with Irish cement logos while the rest carried the CIE roundels all the way to 2008. Every bubble we have done in that livery with the CIE logo had it at withdrawal as we used pictures from around that time for reference. The Irish cement logo is very popular (and does look great) but the CIE roundel was far more numerous. The original grey livery was 1964 until the early 70s, replaced by orange from the early 70s which was then replaced by ivory in the early 80s. Orange would have run mixed with both liveries as they overlapped. Hope this helps! Cheers Fran
  7. We are looking at the possibility of doing the pallets as an accessory item, watch this space. You could take off the two strakes at the top to access them but do so at your own risk!
  8. Here's a preview of the deco of the pallets! As explained above, they pallets were wrapped in plastic with branding on them, and that's what our model will replicate! Cheers! Fran
  9. Also, here is the deco for the 4 packs Cheers! Fran
  10. Hi Pops, We did look at opening doors but the mechanism on the real ones (they slid back into the partitions of the wagon when opened!) was just too complex and cost prohibitive to do in OO, so they are fixed. They were introduced in 1974 and withdrawn in 2003 (hard to believe it's 16 years ago!) I'm sure we will have stock of these in 2020 so you can get them with next years budget! Every compartment will come loaded, they could be removed but we would urge caution around that and not really recommend it! Thanks for the comments everyone! Fran
  11. The bags will indeed be decorated. I think we have decoration for them sorted but will let you know if we need it, cheers!
  12. You know us and a bundle deal John! Most certainly! Not yet but in and around liner prices!
  13. Thanks! We are looking at 8 different running numbers over 4 packs of two wagons.
  14. Needs no further introduction really! Please note, this is a first sample and yes, we know there are corrections to be made! But, well, yum yum!!! Pre-ordering will be open soon. You have been warned! Cheers! Fran
  15. About that timeframe. This is the problem with this gig, we want to to make everything yesterday but the market can only sustain so much, so we gotta take our time! Cheers! Fran
  16. If you know the IRM model well, you will know that we are fans on of of the aforementioned locos, and it would be very much in our thoughts eventually, when other locos are produced. It's a case of 'patience, my sweet' if you wish to wait for a top class RTR shunter, but it is on the medium term radar. Cheers! Fran
  17. Late this month, early August depending on customs and shipping.
  18. Managed 2nd radius with ease. Very well designed.
  19. Absolutely superb Eoin! (Have the A4 partwork if you fancy losing the rest of your sanity)
  20. Unfortunately you're in the minority so far Graham, not many going for them, but hopefully they pick up in time. Always liked it myself.
  21. Hi Wexford, They transferred to 42ft flats in the mid 2000s, around 2005/6. Cheers! Fran
  22. Hi everyone, Thanks for the feedback! Here it is with some of the forthcoming containers to give you a flavour of what to expect! We should have a sample of the CIE 20ft container in the coming weeks to see what it looks like too! Cheers! Fran
  23. Plan is... 1. Liner 2. Ferts 3. Guinness 4. Spoil 5. Weedsprayer
  24. Hi everyone, Thanks for the kind words! It's been a lot of hard work but great to see the project making significant progress finally. Personally I am blown away by the quality of it, @Glenderg has exceeded even his own high standards on these, and that is saying something. I think they will be our best yet, and the factory has done a superb job on the finesse of the tooling from what we have seen so far. We are currently appraising this sample and will have some corrections for the factory in due course. We are still looking into it and havent made a call yet. It is such a unique beast that it is proving the challenge to make it viable, but we have not given up on it just yet and are working on some ideas. We will make an announcement either way in due course. We do plan to include them you will be delighted to hear! It is peco code 75 weathered and ballasted by the experts at model rail baseboards. We will have more on our layout in the coming weeks, so watch this space! Us too! We should have a sample of the ferts in the coming weeks, once we get it we will show you and open the pre-order books on them as they will be second in line after the liners! Cheers! Fran
  25. Hi everyone, Well after months of research, CAD, checking, corrections, amendments to corrections and tooling, the first sample of our massive 'project 42' has arrived, sporting a first sample view of our weed spray tanks! The fully diecast underframe provides a lovely weight with excellent detail and fidelity in plastic and wire fittings. It also comes on our excellent Y33 bogies as first seen on the Tara Mines wagons, so rotating axle hubs are included! We have some corrections to make, but overall it looks excellent! Here are some images to whet the appetite! (Please note that this is a pre-production sample, and details like the headboards will not be on the weedspray wagons. It is just to demonstrate parts, fit and finish!)
