  1. One of the two items we are announcing this weekend. There's something off with the picture though, seems a bit blurred?? See you all on Saturday!
  2. Hi Graham, We tried to make it work, but it just isnt economically viable for us to do both buffers and bogies for these. Maybe one for the cottage industry? Cheers, Fran
  3. Ah yes. In the day job I learned many years ago that any sort of abbreviations are a big no no as it assumes that the recipient of the message knows what it stands for, and in a lot of cases, they dont. Never seen them referred to that before, but if that that is what it was, then yes Noel, they will be pockets at the correct height, we don't want no scrubs when going through points or curves, they will be easy to switch and shouldn't get damaged in the process.
  4. Tender loving care? Sorry Noel, don't understand your query?
  5. We will have samples of the containers Graham, the flats themselves are being tooled at the moment. Bogies will be the sexy ones that are under the Taras with rotating axle caps etc. Cheers, Fran
  6. We are considering it, but won’t before later in the run if we do. I’d just buy the B&I ones and sell the containers, they’re bound to be worth a premium for rarity alone
  7. They are indeed Graham, totally removable.
  8. Hi Mark, We will have it up on the site at the same time, so about 11am. cheers, Fran
  9. Hi everyone, As the big Dublin show is only a few days away, I thought it would be good to put together some details about what you can expect from IRM this weekend. We are delighted to be able to sponsor the show, our first show to do so as we look to support our local clubs and their shows every year which take great planning, dedication and hard work. We will have a slightly scaled down version of our new exhibition stand at the show, in the main hall towards the back. On it we will be on hand to sell cement bubbles, show you samples of plough vans and Taras, some items for our forthcoming project 42 range as well as Accurascale stock and samples on sale and view. On top of that, we will be taking pre-orders on Taras, Ploughs and our forthcoming container liners, which will be in limited numbers. You can read about that via the link below: And finally, we will have TWO all new model announcements at the show at 11am on Saturday. One item will have a pre-production sample on hand, the other will be CAD only, but will give you a view of what we have coming after the 42ft flat project. So, make sure you drop by, say hi, and see what we have coming your way. We look forward to seeing you there! Cheers, Fran
  10. Sorry to hear that Leslie and Richard. Hopefully the scummer who nicked the motor will be apprehended and your bruises heal soon! Wont be the same without you guys there. Cheers, Fran
  11. Hi everyone, We are opening the order books on our first items of our 42ft project this weekend; the B&I, Bell and CIE Liners. And before you ask; yes, it was due to be the ferts first, but the ferts are undergoing some vigorous fettling which as you may have noticed, has delayed the whole project somewhat. So, while we get that sorted out (and we nearly have it sorted) we have swapped the container liners into first position as they are more advanced. We are doing two packs of two wagons with Bell containers, two packs of two wagons with B&I containers., and one twin pack with two wagons each featuring two 20ft CIE containers. Phew! The B&I and Bell containers are of course the C Rail intermodal containers, which are excellent in both finish and fidelity, while the CIE 20ft containers are new tooling from ourselves. We're delighted to say that we will have pre-production samples of both C Rail container liveries on our stand at Raheny this weekend for you to see. While Bell containers have been done before, they have not been done on this pattern of container, which is earlier than other C Rail Bell containers giving them an operating spehere of 70s-90s. They are also new numbers unique to us. The B&I containers have never been done before, and of course the CIE containers are uniquely Irish and all new tooling. Cost per pack is €100, with a rake deal in place for CIE, Bell and B&I trains of four packs for €375. Delivery is Q1 2019. Since the production numbers of these is quite small, (half the size of other production runs like bubbles and smaller than the taras) they will sell out pretty fast. So, dont miss out on them. They will be available to pre-order from our stand and online from Saturday morning at 11am. As mentioned elsewhere, we will also have a new product announcement (Well, two actually!) on our stand at Raheny, so make sure you drop by and have a look! Cheers, Fran
  12. There are some roof and wiring differences and the HST trailers do not have buffers.
  13. Hi Graham, We assessed the pre production model and were unhappy with it in several areas so the tooling is being tweaked. Ploughs are now in course for December release. Apologies for the delay, but the sample just isn’t good enough, we want the model to be much better. Cheers, Fran
  14. oh you big tease! I was thinking either black and tan or A class silver would've looked the part! Sounds good all the same!
  15. Hi everyone, Just a reminder; we will be at the Great Electric Train Show at Arena MK, Milton Keynes this weekend on stand 63. On our stand we will have pre-production samples of two new Accurascale models; one is rolling stock, and one is an accessory. We will be able to take pre-orders for the rolling stock online and at the show. On top of our new Accurascale announcement we will have pre-production samples of the Cemflo and our 7mm HUO to see in public for the first time. We can take pre-orders on both at the show too. As well as that we will have packs of our pre TOPS HUOs and buffer accessory packs for sale on the day, and (hopefully with a bit of luck!) a very limited supply of the new TOPS and NCB packs of our HUOs. We're currently trying our best to arrange logistics on that. We'll keep you posted! Finally we will also have samples of our IRM models, with pre-production plough van and Tara Mines on display and orange cement bubbles available to buy. Patrick and I will be on hand to chat and answer questions and queries, so make sure you stop by and say hi! We look forward to seeing you there! Cheers! Fran

  16. It was considered by our shipping company I believe but wasn’t a goer in the end!
  17. We will get some more of it and start a wee thread on it in the next few weeks. It will also be attending some future shows all going well! All the handiwork of our very own @Glenderg, the weathering really brings them to life!
  18. Have you ordered your plough vans yet? We have seen a surge of orders since we unveiled our pre-production sample from our Chinese factory across all three liveries, none of which are the NIR blue above! They sure do look good with ballast wagons though! We have requested some changes to be made to the tooling to improve finesse but they are still on track to be with us later in 2018. Don't miss out, order yours today: https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/ballast-plough Cheers! Fran
  19. Would definitely love to see 131 come out to play down here, but I'm looking forward to the 121 returning the most tbh!
  20. Thanks Graham, as Stephen says there is lots going on behind the scenes, and we are flat out to get stuff ready for Raheny and beyond. We will open the book on the fert preorders possibly tomorrow, as we get closer to delivering them. As Stephen says they will be here this side of CNY all going well (natural phenomenon aside!) as well as the other goodies which will arrive throughout 2019. If anything everyone's wallets will get a breather too, which helps! We will have goodies to show at the 3 day show, along with our new announcement as well as bubbles and Accurascale stock for sale. Our stand will be well worth a visit!
  21. Hi everyone, As you may already know by now, our highly anticipated Tara Mines wagons were due to leave our factory in China a couple of weeks ago for their long journey to Dublin. In fact, they did leave the factory, and headed to the airport for their first of two flights. Unfortunately, nature took its course and as a result of a ‘Super Typhoon’ hitting the model railway manufacturing region of China, our delivery of Tara’s was delayed. All flights were cancelled, and as a result our consignment missed the connecting flight from Beijing. As a result of the storm itself, the fall out and damage caused to local infrastructure, getting them out of China was impossible for a number of weeks. China's logistics channels is also amid all the Christmas market stock leaving the Far East for Europe, so it is currently logistics silly season and getting a new slot on a plane proved quite the challenge. The good news is that we have finally secured a way for them out of China after much searching around, phone calls, emails and annoyance of several logistics managers. The not so good news is that there was no space available by air, and instead they are travelling by sea. This means that they will now arrive in approx six weeks time. Apologies for this delay, but sadly nature is something we can’t legislate for in this instance. We will keep you up to date and will have more news when we have it. We are just as disappointed as you are, and we really wanted them here for the three day show in Raheny in October, but it's just the way it goes. As compensation, we will have plenty to see at the show, including an additional new model announcement on Saturday, October 27th, so make sure you come and see us! Thanks, IRM Team (Fran, Patrick, Richard and Stephen) (this has been emailed to all Tara Mines customers we have email addresses for ahead of publishing here.)
  22. Hi Noel. It is hauled only. the end coach is an observation coach, not a DVT. Thanks, Fran
  23. Hi everyone, Just to give you an update on this; we're still working on it. With the Christmas rush it's proving difficult but we should have some proper news on this over the next couple of days. Apologies for this and thank you all for your patience. We're doing everything possible to get it sorted. Cheers, Fran
  24. Hi everyone, Our first Accurascale model, the HUO hopper, is up for the award of Hornby Magazine's 'best OO wagon / coach' of 2018. It would be great to give us a vote should you think we're worthy! The closing date is Oct 1st and there are some excellent prizes on offer to everyone who places a vote! https://hornbymagazine.keypublishing.com/2018/09/13/hornby-magazine-model-railway-awards-2018/ Cheers!
