  1. Went in just under 100 seconds. Wow! Still, if you missed out, you can console yourself with the plough no going on preorder maybe?
  2. Our next model, the highly exclusive CIÉ/Irish Rail 24850-24854 series ballast plough van, is now available to pre-order ahead of delivery in August 2018! Five of the CIÉ/Irish Rail 24850-24854 series vans were introduced in 1978 to supersede elderly pre-grouping vans for the Civil Engineering Department. They usually ran in pairs, top-and-tailing ballast hopper trains across the Irish railway network until their withdrawal in 2013. Following the success of our first model, the CIÉ/Irish Rail Ballast Hopper wagons, it seemed fitting to add the Ballast Plough to our range to complete a typical Irish ballast train. The model will utilise the same chassis as the ballast hopper and cement bubbles as per prototype, and will include features such as fully detailed interior, wire mesh on the windows (where appropriate) and full DCC control of interior and tail lights via a two function 8 pin decoder (not supplied). The vans will also feature switches to operate these features on analogue systems. The Plough Vans will be made in a strictly limited production run. Four of the five vans will be represented in this batch of releases, with the vans coming in two packs of two for a sale price of €119.95. This price reflects the very small production volume and complexity of the model. There will be an IR and IE pack, both carrying CIÉ/Irish Rail ‘Machinery Yellow’ as per prototype. The IR pack will feature two vans with the IR ‘points’ logo, gained in the late 1980’s and observed on some plough vans as late as 2006. The second will be in IE livery, which represents the final years of these unique vans. These vans will nicely finish off rakes of IRM ballast wagons and help complete an authentic Irish ballast train. Orders are now being taken via the IRM website: http://irishrailwaymodels.com/product-category/freight-stock/ballast-plough/
  3. Pretty cool Dave. Adavoyle has to be the best Irish outline layout around, it's just stunning. The Lima Sealink coaches are of the BR Mark ones which ran excursion trains in the UK like below. NIR also painted their 70 class Thumper in the same livery. Bachmann recently did a twin coach pack in this livery too for their collectors club.
  4. Opportune time for a sickie, Robert!
  5. He'd have my blessing anyway...
  6. Is the Pope more of an 071 man?
  7. Friday the 13th is usually seen as an unlucky day, but your luck may change for the better this week. We've just discovered a limited number of the highly sought after 'Irish Cement' branded cement bubble pack As in our warehouse! As you may remember, these sold out rapidly when they arrived for the three day South Dublin Model Railway show back in October. We were reorganising our storage area and found 10 packs in a box from that show which we can now offer on sale. Since these wagons are coveted by so many modellers, we have decided give everyone notice of their sale well in advance. These will go on sale online only this coming Friday, April 13th at 10am. There is a limit of one pack per customer and are sold on a 'first come, first served' basis. The price remains the same as we're sound lads (no stealth EBay accounts for us!) at €125.00 plus P&P per pack. Make sure you don't miss out on your last chance to secure these packs! Place your order from Friday morning here. Good Luck!
  8. Expect more news and updates on that in the coming days...
  9. This is a BR OTA wagon.
  10. We will be there with cement bubbles for sale, the pre-production Tara Mines wagon to show you all and possibly something new! Keep an eye on our Facebook and website for more news on that in the coming days! So there might be something new to chat about over the coffee at the IRM stand meetup....
  11. Another milestone for us here today, with the first Accurascale model entering production!
  12. Great info as always snapper. Will we see 131 south of Heuston this year?
  13. That's a pity Dave, I know I'd have one in a heartbeat.
  14. Don't suppose you can convince him to do another batch, Robert? He'd sell them no bother!
  15. As stated elsewhere, we're delighted that the Tara managed to win 'best model' at the Wexford show this weekend. So, our model has won an award even before release!
  16. I’ve finally had some time to sit down after a crazy busy weekend in the (not so) sunny south east. I’d like to extend a sincere thanks to all the guys and girls of the Wexford club who looked after me tremendously over the weekend, including running out to get me sandwiches on both days as I was unable to leave the IRM stand. It was my first time at the exhibition and I was impressed by the organization and venue. Very well done. Sadly I didn’t get much of a look at the layouts but heard lots of positive comments about what was on show. Thank you to everyone who stopped by the IRM stand to say hello, have a chat, check out the Tara and Accurascale hopper and of course those of you who made purchases. Finally, I was approached by a large contingent from the club on Monday evening. Fearing I was getting evicted as they had found out what I got up to as a lad on holidays to Curricloe and Carne it turned out IRM had won an award for Best Model for the Tara!!! We’re blown away by it and thank the club sincerely! What a lovely bonus to finish off the weekend!
  17. Produced in very small numbers about 10-15 years ago? Fairly rare, though I know a man with two. I'd love one myself I have to say.
  18. We’re all set for the Wexford Model Railway Club exhibition! There are some fantastic layouts on show! We’re at stand 7 with the following bubble special offers: 2 packs: €225 (save €25) 3 packs: €340 (save €35) 4 packs: €450 (save €50) 5 packs: €550 (save €75) We can accept cash and all major credit cards!
  19. As I make my way to the Wexford show IRM’s design genius @Glenderg is busy CADing up our first loco between Easter eggs and his leg of lamb. The turfburner is a complex beast but should make for an excellent model and we wanted to do something uniquely Irish. Now, has anyone got a sound recording?
  20. Lol don’t worry, we won’t be doing the Blue Tara’s in 2018 so you have time to save!
  21. Hi Kevin, Yes, yes and one code per set. cheers! Fran
  22. Thanks for the order Ernie, we’ll dispatch them on Tuesday for you!
  23. That’s an egg-cellent post Noel. You’re some yolk coming up with that! Anyway, sale is now on!
  24. Get cracking if you like
