  1. Yes, the first time I drove in I thought I was going to end up going over the M50 pedestrian bridge! The big news tonight is that we will have two new things to show you all on top of the decorated Tara. So make sure to pop along if you can!
  2. Hi everyone, The South Dublin Model Railway Club will be very kindly hosting us at their clubrooms in Knocklyon, Dublin tomorrow night (13th June) from 9pm, where we will have decorated samples of the Tara's as well as cement bubbles and Accurascale HUOs for you all to look at. There might be an additional surprise to see too, but cannot confirm just yet! This event us open to the public, so all are welcome! We appreciate that this is very short notice, but sure what else would you be doing of a Wednesday evening?? The SDMRC are also providing some catering by all accounts! Spread the word and pop along! Thanks, Fran
  3. Hi everyone, Not to cause a panic or anything, but we have two pack C bubbles left in stock, and D is running pretty low too. So, if you want some ivory bubbles, now is the time to snap them up or run the risk of missing out. We wont be doing another run of that livery for a loooooonnnng time. Dont say we didnt warn you! https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/cement-bubbles Cheers, Fran
  4. Hi Kevin, we’re working away on it but it’s proving to be a most complex beast to say the least. We will have an update on it in the coming weeks though, so watch this space. Cheers, Fran
  5. Hi lads, Our second British outline model is the iconic Cemflo wagon. Wont bore you with details but if you want more info check out the Accurascale site https://accurascale.co.uk/new-annoucement-cemflo-by-accurascale/ And here's some sexy Richie CAD!
  6. Decorated Tara pics! We have just received a decorated sample of the highly anticipated Tara Mines wagons! This is pack B. Don't they look superb? We will have them in the cabinet at Stillorgan this Sunday, so pop in for a look if you can. :
  7. Gas, the latter years Margate stuff was the worst stuff I have ever run. Well, it didnt run properly, at all. Pulled nothing, looked hideous etc etc. Hornby China stuff blows its socks off.
  8. We've hit the halfway point in sales, ladies and gents. Make sure you don't miss out!

    RIP Jim Bayle

We have just learned of the sad passing of Jim Bayle. Jim was a legend in the hobby here, working in Marks Models for many years and a long time member of The Model Railway Society of Ireland. Above all, he was a true gentleman and a pleasure to deal with. Our thoughts are with his family, staff at Marks Models, the members of the MRSI and all his friends in the hobby, who were many. RIP Jim.
  10. We've now surpassed the 40% presold mark on these. We should have a revised tooling sample in the coming days. Once that is signed off, we can push the production button!
  11. In a big day for IRM / Accurascale, our first British model arrived in from China and we have been flat out wrapping and packing them for shipment to their new homes! (thank you to those of you who have supported us with a couple of purchases of them despite modelling Irish, we appreciate that! )
  12. It really doesn't seem like that long ago since our first rake of ivory cement bubbles arrived. In fact, while the pack A variant arrived at the South Dublin Model Railway Club show in Blackrock, most of the packs B, C and D didnt arrive until mid November. Since then they've sold like hot cakes. So much so, that we've sold out of pack A, B and now we're running very low on packs C and D. So, if you want some, act now before they all go! https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/cement-bubbles
  13. IRM will be there too, with bubbles and maybe something nice and new to see in our cabinet Pop by and say hi! We will also have Accurascale UK outline hoppers on sale too, if you're into that sorta thing!
  14. Internal promotion. Jim has worked up through the ranks and has been acting CEO for a while I believe.
  15. Correct Graham, we are delighted to announce that our first batch of pre-TOPS HOP 24 / HUO hoppers are due to leave the factory next week! As you know they're being air-freighted in so we will have them for dispatch before the end of the month. The buffers and the special pack for Railway Museum / Rails of Sheffield are part of this shipment too. Exciting times for all of us here at IRM / Accura Towers. As the landing and release date draw ever closer, we have seen a big surge in orders over the past week or so for these wagons, which is heartening for us, but also shows that the demand for them is high. Some packs are well over half way to sold out already, so it's a bit like IRM in that sense! We have in the past week put the TOPS variants and the private owner pack on sale too and they have both seen strong orders as well. Focus now turns to next Accura models. Tara production and pushing on with the plough tooling. Not enough hours in the day currently.
  16. Just to let you lads know, we're at the 40% presold mark on the ploughs and it's pretty neck and neck in the order books. Looks like they're not going to hang around too long!
  17. More info on this:

  19. Managed to catch Merlin today now I'm back from the other side of the water. She powered through West Dublin on her way to Connolly for the trip back north. Merlin at Clondalkin Fonthill by franburke, on Flickr
  20. Good spot, it's a typo on our part. Still August!
  21. Hi Mmie, Yes, we have upgraded the site to make navigation even easier, while it also plugs into a slick stock control system for us, so no more finding sold out bubbles down the back of the sofa! We will be sending out an email later this morning which allows you (and everyone else) to reactivate their accounts. cheers, Fran
  22. It was a tough one, but we managed to smuggle him out of the country on some Accura business....
  23. What's better than an orange bubble? An orange bubble weathered by Richie.... A gentle dusting really makes these the nicest of all the cement bubbles if you ask me. Really makes the detail pop out! Still in stock, but who knows for how much longer? https://irishrailwaymodels.com/product-category/freight-stock/cement-bubbles/
  24. Stunning, love the street signs (as well as our bubbles rolling through such a great layout!)
  25. Thanks for the support Tony, we appreciate it as every sale helps us. re doing GNRI wagons. Do you think we’d sell 12,000-15,000 units of say, a GNRI open wagon in the UK? I thought it was a pretty niche part of a niche market tbh, but I could be wrong.
