I think such a topic needs a thread on its own

Found the end of a primer bottle in the workshop and used it for my CIE cattle wagons Coat 1/3 for the LNER wagons finished product ready for re-fitting wheels, buffers and maybe the vac pipes maybe tommorow while the county Donegal zoom is going on, I’ll get these finished

There is a new series on RTE about bridges. The first episode featured more railways then the entire series of Iranroid Enda
-
I think the price will keep people from coming at this model with the soldering iron and paint
-
Dead right! None of these wagons looked uniform in colour after a couple of uses!
-
I’m think that’s the cover of Henry casserlys book. The spine in mine has horrendous sun damage and puts a big white section through the complete painting

Today is a good day, no school, passed driving test and now my brand new Oxford LNER cattle wagons arived they worked out including customs and postage. Just under a tenner a pop. they look reasonably like the CIE cattle wagons. the length, doors and the supports on the side are noticeably soo. But for he price I payed, there was bound to be some set backs. JM designs can would go behind these nicely The point is between these cattle wagons, and a few open wagons. I need the find a good colour grey for the paint. I’m aware the CIE goods Grey was quite light, had white snails (stencilled or normal) and the older wagons were darker grey with green snails in some cases. I wonder if anyone has a good rattle can or paint in general that matches up nicely with The Lighter Grey CIE used at the end of the 50s and start of the 60s.

Screenshots, pushing together, cropping….and then finding a place with a good A3 printer Or you could travel to location and take a panoramic picture with your phone (if your phone has that panoramic picture feature)

If IRM were ever to do a C class. Would they do 2 C231’s. One in that green as it is so popular and the other in the “as preserved” ITG greeen

Donegal-themed Zoom night Tuesday 25th Jan from 19:45

I’ve been too all of them thus far. All 2! -
They look alright without painting I suppose. indeed I was thinking was it going to be the lighter grey or the later brown livery. Probobly fair to say weathering can bring that light brown to that colour
-
Look fantastic! which livery will they be put into?
-
Obviously I’m far from the stage where I’m drowning in models. But sounds like ye should just label some of yer boxes “moyesta”

Currently at £1 is to €1.20…..worst it’s been in a while
-
So a slightly different version of the brakevan altogether. Steel sheeted would be simular but not identical to SSM kit of the 30 ton variant
-
Are the updated versions of the 20t brakevans part of the 2nd wave of flying snail stencil vans that were released for pre order in January?
-
It can help but it does not completely pay the bills. The fintown railway is in such a beutiful spot (probobly the most beutiful of any heritage line in this country) and yet struggles with numbers due to it’s completely isolated sport.
-
The part built one looks great! I’m sure northern Irish modellers, or in fact anyone who needs more of an excuse to run NIR mk2 stock.

I’d Agree. that brief shot of the J15 winding its way slowly through the countryside. back in topic. Much of what Silver/Green/Black/Black n Tan can be seen in this brief clip that popped in my feed this evening that’s part of a longer dvd (could not get the link to clip so here are a few exerts, can be found in west cork model village Facebook) more importantly C212 will give an idea for some models of what Crossely did to A42….it looks like a completely different colour. As do all the wagons
