  1. I don’t know what Hornby are playing at making a titfield thunderbolt set when they don’t have (what I understand) is exclusive rights! Why are they clearly trying to take a punt at rapido….when they could have just made lion and left it at that. If there is one good thing to come out of it, the response video is brilliant! I was a small bit miffed that they announced coal wagons. I’m sure accurascale would like to say a few words about that Oh and £250 is now the average price of a loco….lovely
  2. it was supposed to come out last year. Still have not been released i think
  3. It looks fairly good actually. No floor in the cab being the only major gripe
  4. The “rowntree” livery on the ruston 88ds looks pretty good even without modification. Obviously you’d want to repaint anyway. these are the prints
  5. There are plenty of other shunting locos that could be achieved. One that comes to my mind is the preserved GSWR no.90, which is do able via the 3d print and an old terrier chassis. but the Hornby 88ds already looks pretty good without much modification
  6. I almost forgot about Iarnród enda……hopefully it will stay forgotten
  7. The courtmacsherry section could not be weedsprayed due to the weeds holding the ballast together when waves or flooding occurred. for those who want to see prototypical Courtmacsherry speed, at 45:20 minutes into this documentary it shows footage. https://youtu.be/eOeIbJHawV0 Considering how much the un-authentic ones get
  8. There is a slight gradient coming into courtmacsherry village and I beleive twas common for the footplate Crewe to give it a burst of speed up the hill, before coasting into the terminal itself. besides, there were many excursion trains that didn’t follow those limits!
  9. Somewhere on my computer, I have colour footage of 100/90 double header excursion into courtmacsherry. They went some speed past the primary school
  10. @leslie10646 announced that the website was going down earlier this year. But if you drop him a PM he should be able to sort you out. I have also ordered from millipede. As it happens it was those bulleid wagons I got from him. There a good model for somone of “my skill”. The one thing I will fault is not having a PayPal set up. I hate having to send cash in the post as many have had bad experiences there
  11. Provincial wagons make a fantastic kit. To make the Definitive bulleid wagon There is also a fella on adverts that custom makes much more rudimentary bulleid wagons in rtr
  12. break out the measuring tape! well we would have to if SSM did not have a kit already out
  13. ahh the actual black and silver livery As a pose to the one in the picture that hattons uses
  14. i believe this particular 0 gauge example belongs to a forum member.
  15. Correct and correct
  16. There’s photos by Brian baker are taken on that section of track on closing day of the west cork. Clearly well looked after
  17. My first layout looked something like this poor Thomas had to pull a rake of 10 or so open wagons up that gradient! I should have kept some of those red bridges around, they could pull of a corrib bridge type design
  18. From the Barry case collection on the cork county archives some very valuable colour shots of the railway scene in cork in the late 50s

  19. Ordered one , I’ll be honest 103 Australian dollars frightened this shite out of me but the conversion rate was more lenient then I remember
  20. It’s for what the first photo I took, I haven’t a clue. I would imagine it would be of the Ruston In halfway but perhaps here lies my evidence of railway enthusiasm from a young age
  21. I might offer a trade for a few screws , 70 cent and a packet of tayto’s Jesus Facebook can be a disease sometimes what’s with is “Ex-Murphy Models”? Is that made up for more waffle
  22. I’ve heard some truly appalling stuff about this loco. It might be the new “Oxford Adams radial”
  23. I believe it was usual on a Thursday for one extra 3 wheel coach to be attached to the end of a railcar set
  24. A quick google search will show the A class got to every county in Ireland and more
  25. The hardest part of getting a mortgage from bank of mum and dad is justifying spending any money at all on trains in the first place. Never mind trying to explain how a train the same size as there phone costs as much of not more!
