Agreee fully on the 50s-60s being the thr most diverse and *imo* the most interesting The amount of lines open, different steam and diesel locomotives, how colourful it was and how much important irish railway landmarks were happening at the time. Of course, I'm bias cause my local line closed in that era but still. This was a time when you could travel from baltimore to letterkenny, from valtentia harbour to strabane, from tramore to kilkee ect. When GM locos clashed buffers with J15s, A and C classes clashed buffers with 800s and so on

.............oh dear I guess ill be waiting another few months Consider8ng there has been only 2 early CIE locos released in the past rtr by lima and bachmann. Im suprised at the upturn the era is getting. The grey 121s and the A's are the only "up to date" rtr models that can be used with the van Of course if you can settle for silverfox stuff like myself, there is a bit more

Well i can still get from cork to dromod by rail (for the most part) the issue is dromod-belturbet. I dont think nancy can get that far these days If I had a time machine...... Id show him the Luas using the Harcourt Street line and give Colm Creedon 500 pounds in 1961 money i found on ebay. Not to mention all the places anyone would visit like Fintona, valentia and Inchicore in years past I'm sure others can name countless other places -

This is only 10 percent passable because its going down to 4mm so the details dont matter, i have no idea how long it took to travel to ballinamore-dromod on the C&L, or if ballinamore was known for its fairs, nor is the quality of image great But not bad for snapchat editor -

I saw an origional one of these in castlerea railway meuseum the other day. Ironically pulled from the a West Cork station of Waterfall Perhaps advertisment posters and boads would be easier to come by? I think those who did the bantry layout made posters like these ones Edit: Bingo -
Any chance with experimenting with 3d printed conversion kits (a shell over an existing rtr chassis) Or 3d printing 6 wheel coaches ect. I remember myself and another fellow moddeller were considering models that can be made from rtr chassis from hornby, bachmann ect. And 3d print a shell for them. One of these exists for GSWR no.90 and were still fiddling with a bandon tank with a b12 chassis. Merlin from a GNR compound or T9, a CBSCR short boogy coach......ect. im sure many can suggest other locos that could be made from current chassis.

They surely would have visited on an excursion of some sort. There might have been an A class or a few doing regular work it it had lasted until 1967 or so. I think only 2-3 A class locos went onto the west cork all in silver Breaking news: A39R is being put into CIE Green on launch day of IRM A class Now that would be a mighty kick in the hole
-
Ahh VAT......I Forgot about that Ive no problem spending 6-700 euro on a Bandon tank or something along those lines but then when it comes to these saddle tanks withdrawn in the early 40s that even for the CBSCR man doing a 1960s theme, its a bit hard to justify what would end up being 400 euros when i could get 2 A class's for that Ill see if there is one pops up (as they sometimes do) around christmas That might be enough justification to get rid of all my savings
-
After the A class it seems to me with variety of liveries, 2 1/2 preserved examples, and similarity to an A. I think it highly likely that we will see one in years to come. AEC Railcar sets also have a lot for northern irish and irish models so i would place them after. Then followed by a sulzer in likeliness. After that......RTR steam loco, Class 80, D/E/G Shunters, re-run of existing model (071, 141) ect. Are all possibibilities that are about level after that Though im sure this is a debate we have had many a time I think for a "what if" people might be interested. Cant say i would 100 percent get one cause my era is completely different but i got a grey 121 for west cork, so I'm sure late 90s early 2000s modelers could make that situation works

This is one of those things where i cant afford it now, but will be kicking myself i didnt get it now in a few years.

Now thats the job Hopefully this website will host many more irish models to come Are the brakevans out?
