  1. Well deserved return for intercity green 201, bridges the gap between old and new very well
  2. To be fair the lima 201 was the biggest step up in irish railway modeling. The MM 141 was also a big step up but not as big a step as the lima 201.
  3. Aye I just saw them there, good rescource for whenever i do get no.90 and maybe some more justification for great northern stock!
  4. Irelands terrier. The old lady was a staple of rocksavage works. Even though the D class diesel had arrived and she was 75 years old at that point! Delightful photo

  11. Id love if the lima 201s were still floating around for a cheap entry point into irish modeling. A bit like a hornby railroad option!

  13. Yea i think interchangable sections of some sort would be great for a potential design but if not the main (not including the single one) ones are... Standered double track like the ones on the limerick waterford line A big multiplatform one simular to the clonakilty junction one but this goes for any major station The other one is the triple track bridge. I think these are seen at Crossbarry and Tiperary town.
  14. The one thing I will add is that the come in all different shapes and sizes! Clonakilty juction had one spanning 3 platforms and 4 tracks! This one at tipperary has the stairs orientated in different directions potential designs for adding a centre section extra and being able to rotate the stairs as mentioned earlier might be beneficial (it would have to be divided into preices due to restricted printer size ect)
  15. And....with only a few small things like using spare SSM transfers to make decals, fixing the buffer ect. GSWR Number 33 is complete. As far as i know this engines last hurrah was working the Clonakilty branchline loosing the Macroom line to its closure and the Cobh line to the introduction of diesal railcars.
  16. I think i saw footage of 560 crossing the city railway with her plates on. 552 and 559 were the regulars in the later days but i think 560, 551, 553 and 557 have been on the line if not more!
  17. This loco will almost certainly be 552 or if not 559. Which both had the later decals on them in the later days of courtmacsherry work. Which suits the rest of the loco fleet which have the same style of numbering
  18. Actually.....black and tan looks pretty superb on CC1.....I'm pleasantly suprised!
  19. Ids say what well want is the newer painted numbers despite how relitivally short they were kept. The connecting rods do stand out a bit alright....i must tell him that Yeah the smoke box door is a bit plain, itll only take 2 or 4 little strips to spruce it ip I must say the way he has approached is promising for younger and more inexperienced modelers like myself who work in a more "awkward" era then the supertrain days and beyond! Steam locos only need to look "recodnisable" for us 2 anyway
  20. Now that we have a goof idea how to make the cab, we could make 201 aswell but as we have a 2-4-2 chassis we will finish the 33 class curvy bits or not!
  21. While my own layout has since been "halted" more work has commenced on my other west cork maniac's locos. the class 33. Has taken shape with a heavily modified smokebox, and on cab side installed (using a picture and microsoft office lense we figured it out) . Also the coal bunker has been modified so it only needs another cab side and making the water tanks a little higher (he might not try to put to notches in the running board as is prototypical) In the third picture is....a slightly modified j72 to make a j26! With a fee transfers and maybe a bit of weathering i think while being a bit long admittedly it will pass....it goes to shoe that with little experience and relitivally low budget. An few irish steam locos aren't impossible.....i must say fair play to him its not easy modeling in west cork!
  22. I would imagine a silver/green C class would look obscure next to black steam engines almost twice as small! The two J30s, 552, Mologa and argadeen are beutiful little locos......slaney can wait as it was withdrawn very early if memory serves
  23. Brilliant stuff this 3d printing. Ive a long list of engines id like to try 3d printing it as does plenty of others I reckon! Number 90 has already been tried and succeded....BCDR tank will be wonderful to see too
  24. The J26, J30 and the origional trio of tank engines are what i think of when i think of courtmacsherry. C Class was a monster compared to the steamers on the line. The only other major change in line working from CIE to GSR days was the regular passenger services which were suspended
  25. Right now seeing one steam loco on a layout is rare.....nevermind full pre 1945 layouts!
