  1. The class 159 is sold, thanks. Just tha Hornby twin controller left for 40euro.
  2. That's great news,thanks for update.
  3. Thanks Walter,I will get back to you as I might be able to arrange someone to bring the deltic body to you,if not will contact you.
  4. I was watching this last night and what a joy to see and hear it live with all the original synths from 1976- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRoghzYiNLE
  5. I was wondering the same myself. The Guy that was involved with the bus said on the old site that there was a problem with a window and would be back for sale soon, but that was ages ago?.
  6. Hornby twin controller HM2000-40 euro Bachmann class 159 3 car DMU-50 euro Hornby Deltic brand new never used body only St Paddy, may be of use to someone -10 euro 087 6982920-Eamonn
  7. Thanks for that Rich,I always wondered that and especially it made painting of the MIR 071 buffer beam very difficult to do,well for me it was.
  8. Does anyone know why the red buffer beam was moved so high on the 071s when compared to the 141/181s.
  9. Can there be nicer train than 071s and mk3s.
  10. I don't have the PC interface, and won't use it either. As regards DCC controllers ,it's all a matter of personal choice as I was glad to get away from the dynamis while some people love the dynamis. As someone once said, people who make model trains don't make good DCC controllers.
  11. I have the advance over a year now and love it. I considered lots of units including the power cab however the prodigy from Hattons at 199 was a good buy as I know a good few lads who have them and even after years of considerable usage got great back up from guagemaster when hand held units wet a bit wonky.I am very happy with mine.
  12. Now Noel you know when you get one 071 you will have to get them all, just like the Pokemon.
  13. Perhaps if sales of the 071 are good, maybe the 121s will be back on the drawing board.
  14. I hope to get at least one in each livery. As with everyone else the funds will tell the tale when the time comes.
  15. Get them into the hobby young and they will always have the bug.
  16. Hi Frank, the IRRS premises at Hueston station would have a large back issue of old journals. They meet on Tuesday nights If you can make it,and also Cliften Flewit often has them on railtours etc.I had posted up any interisting articules from journals on the old site such as ones on the 121 and 141/181 locos which gave a indept feature.I can repeat here if folks want them.
  17. The same here John.I saw a kingscourt train near Navan just at a level crossing north of the town when I worked in Dublin some 20 years ago. This line had a number a crew operated LC gates which appeared in two New Horizon videos. One of my favourite photos appeared in Rail Express in the late 90s showing a double headed 121 near Nobber with gypson train. The line did lack any big engineering such a viaducts and tunnells hence my love of the Waterford -Ballinacourty branch, and quite out of the way level crossings. As regard modelling a gypson train, the Shapeway ballast wagons would do the trick nicly.
  18. I try to keep it to the IR and IE era but any CIE livery gets me back to the late 70s and early 80s on the Rosslare line and countless hours at Enniscorthy Station looking at trains. The good old days.
  19. The SA ran after the loco number with S used to denote fitted with CAWS(Continous Automatic Warning System). The A denotes fitted with Air Breaks.
  20. The June 2008 IRRS journal No 166 has a good article on the MK 2D coaches showing photos of their arrival in green undercoat and a trial train of two 141s in black and tan with the green mk2s in tow at Clondalkin. It also shows wonderfull photos of expermental livery that was applied at Inchicore with a overall red and two cream panals, not to mention a all over navy blue with silver window frames, and the golden brown with a white centre where the black went on the final choice. Another suggestion on show was a Duck egg blue with a off white panel between the doors.Another photo shows a black roof and black all the way down to just below the windows where a thin white stripe meets the golden brown.I persume these photos were taken in 1972 priar to the rolling out in the super train livery that was chosen.
  21. Well done to ye all guys as they all look wonderfull.
  22. The 071 sound is the best of all the sound chips recordings that I have heard.088 is the loco that was recorded.
