I enjoyed it Shem,some nice layouts and the train man 1 has a nice selection on stuff for sale.There is about 10 layouts on show,and my own 082 is on freight duty with sound on Gerry's Ballybeg.The scratch built Mk4 and IC 22ks are a fab job.

It seems the cab lighting is standard Conor,glad you like photos.Cant wait to see Anthony's weathered examples.

Nothing worked for me with the 3 function Bachman chip.I tryed a chip In 112 and 082 and nothing,now I hope that perhaps I am doing something a@@e ways but I put in MM 201 and it worked first go. I brought 082 down to Wexford show and Gerry Byrne stuck in a 071 sound chip and that is working fine bar some adjustment for the headlight.As with the 201s you will need the MM 071 chip. I would love to hear anyone's experience with decoders for The locos.

Shem I tryed a Bachman 3 function first which did not work,and ended up using the PM 201 chip from 222.

Yes you have to remove the entire centre body to get at the Decoder pins.It is very handy though especially when compared to the song and dance to open the body's on the 141s.

And for anyone who has not seen the inside of the speaker- decoder area. 4 screws have to be opened as shown in photo.The centre body comes off without cabs.

There was one recorded working of a 201 under its own Power in the 90s that went past Arklow to Wexford.I think It might have been a cement.A 201 was hauled by a 141 over the south Wexford line and back to Dublin via the coast line for clearance tests in the mid 90s as well.

The Rosslare line got the Mk2d coaches in 1988 from what I remember,and prior to that the Craven-Park Royal combo was in use.The Mk3 PPs seemed to appear in 1990-91 on the Sunday 10.30 ex Connolly as They were not in use on outer subburban links on Sunday.I remember going back to Dublin on the return evening service in 1991 with a Mk3 PP and a single 121,and a GAA special arrived with another Mk3 PP and 121 into Enniscorthy station. Oh for a camera back then. The single 121s struggled big time on the Rosslare line with a six piece Mk3 PPs and after a few breakdowns,double heading with 141s and 121/141 combos were common.When the 201s arrived in 1994 the 071s dominated traction on the Rosslare line and hauled the Mk3 PPs for a few years more.I am not sure when the Mk3 PPs stopped on the Sunday services,perhaps around 1995.

Exactly why I got rid of them,mainly the poor running.I know they can be improved with a model torque motor,however as you said Des the newer 201 is such a cracker.

I sold Murphy Lima 201 for 60e a few months back along with 217 for the same price on this site.
