  1. Nice shots of Mullingar-Athlone line which reminds me of my journey on that line in 1995 with a ITG railtour with 124 and 131 hauling cravens and van. The line was overgrown at that stage as well and like on the video the branches were hopping of the windows preventing you from sticking your head out.
  2. Fair play Riche,it's fantastic.
  3. Great video there Ant,and that's the first video I have seen of EM50 in action.
  4. I will get one for sure, and I hope it goes well for you Nigel.
  5. I know what you mean,as I am trying to get the cash ready for the 071s as well.A lottery win would be great.
  6. You could redo with a Hornby deltic chassis which is a great runner even at slow speeds and only 36stl from Hattons.I have used one on my a39,but you will need plenty of weight if you have any inclines on your layout.
  7. Loving this,thanks for posting.
  8. That is fantastic Richie,I love it.
  9. If you are in the area the viaduct can be accessed from the right hand side near the roadway via a small path.During the 90s I was able to walk from the viaduct back on the tracks for about a mile to Ballyvoyle tunnel, while last Summer it was blocked with bushes and briars.I had to travel to the other of the tunnel where it meets the roadway near a pub and walk back to the tunnel.Very wet and overgrown and Wellies were the order of the day. I stopped to think at the tunnel and it was very hard to picture 146 light engine and EM50 passing here in May 1990 such is the distruction.
  10. This is for Glenderg who is looking for photos of Ballyvoyle Viaduct, hope his helps.
  11. I sent a few photos of my own to Ciarans Eiretrains site. Some photos are of my own showing track intact on the Viaduct and some are of David Parks photos of the Weed Killer train during the 80s.Some photos are shown on a piece I did on "Waterford-Ballinacourty line revisited Last year on this site.I have more photos in the collection That I can post up If you want.I think the Eiretrains photos appear on the Durrow section.

  15. That's grand Tommy, leave it till near Ten.
  16. Tommy,I hope you know all the lights won't work on the 3 function Bachman chip!.give me a buzz later if you can.
  17. It sure is Seamus, and I love the wheel flange squeal.
  18. Mind you the start up of 088 on the 071 sound chip does sound like its not going to start. The 071s in particular suffer from poor cold starting mainly because of the small car like starting motor attached to the engine.
  19. Best wishes to you Patrick.
  20. That sure is a fab job, well done.
  21. Santa brought me a nice Windhoff thingmagig by Seamus Graham, and I love it.

  23. Good to have you back bud.Its the good memory's at Enniscorthy station in the late 70s watching trains with my own Father that I treasure as well.looks like we were blessed with fantastic Fathers who gave us a life long obsession with trains.May they rest in peace.
