  1. The tail lamps are not powered, and I got them On e bay from spring side models. The wagons came in kit form with chassis and I had to build and hand paint them. They are not normally sold as kits so I am Glad to be allowed to get them. They have a lot more detail than the MIR kits.I have to thank Anthony for the dirty 156 and where to get the tail lamps.
  2. Yes I love the rake too, especially after watching a video on YouTube of a cement with a baby GM on the Limerick Ballybrophy line.
  3. I just finished my Cement wagons and I am delighted with them. Fair play to Irish freight models for superb wagons. I have always wanted a few of these wagons as I remember them passing and unloading in Enniscorthy Station over the years.
  4. Yes you can convert your Lima a class to DCC by wiring in a 8 pin harness, but to be honest Lima motors don't run very well with DCC as slow speed running is very poor. Before you run into DCC do try to meet up with someone and ask questions as It can be off putting with all the lingo.I am no expert, but have had plenty of friends to help with advice.
  5. It is worth your while, but it is expensive, especially if you go down the sound route.Best thing is to go to a show and ask people for advice.Weford show at Easter is one stop,or if you could arrange to meet anyone on this site who lives near you and has DCC.
  6. I suppose ye Dubs can avail of the facility's every week, while the rest of us down the sticks can't .I have not been to a IRRS Night since the mid 90s.
  7. The 071 and 201 are loco specific, mainly because of the lights, and there is a good difference between each loco as the recordings are from real 201 and 071 locos.if you check out YouTube under-Irish loco with sound, you can see my own and Gerry Byrnes Locos. As far as I know the Wexford show will be on this Easter. If you are ever in Wexford, you are welcome to give me a shout if you want a demo of any of these locos with sound. Eamonn
  8. I forgot to mention that the 141s will need a speaker fitted and this can be a problem as there is very little room in the 141 hood and will need some alterations to get the speaker to fit. DCC supplies have bass enhanced speakers that will do the job. If you need any help on this, ask George in Marks in Cork.
  9. Jo You may contact model shop Belfast as they have 201/141/071 sound chips. All the chips are for 21 pin and all you have to do is plug and play. The new 071 chip is superb with a north and south version with station announcement.
  10. Patrick, what looks like a oil train in the loop at Kilmacthomas Station is in fact the weed killer train hauled by a C class,as the Water tanks had not been painted yellow at this stage.I think this photo was taken in 1978,and there is more photos of it on the site.
  11. Top notch weathering Tommy,I love the oil stains on 039.
  12. Now that is a gas video.you are inspiring me to soon get some track relayed in my own attick.
  13. Thanks Rich. That new livery will need to be looked at in daylight, and no doubt eagle eyes will get a photo soon.
  14. I am having trouble trying to see this colour,as I am slightly colour blind,Gray being one colour I have trouble with.. Hence why I would never get a job with IE as a driver because I would fail colour test, darn it anyway.
  15. I don't know what to make of that livery!.
  16. God I never knew you went out with the wobbly wheelers!.lol. I thick I also spoke to you on a railtour a few years back.
  17. Lovely stuff, and especially the beets. Have you seen the triple video of 1998 beet season?
  18. Your weathering is looking great Noel, and the M class bus is superb. You are making great strides on your b101.I have fallen behind on mine as I am doing more cleaning up of the shed and attic.
  19. Great stuff Tom,Tara's looking good. And that's fantastic work on the scratch built Tara.the extra detail on 112 looks great-and where did you get the detail parts?.
