She was the first GM to be scrapped.There was fire damage around the fuel tank and mid section.She was at the back of Inchicore works for a few years,grounded with no bogies and stripped of all useable parts.Very sad sight to see,and at one stage IE were going to rebuild this loco and a number of locos such as 161,132,174,126,and the long stored 125 and return to service,but the large influx of railcars put paid to that.actually 121 herself was also one of these locos as she was damaged on the weed killer train fire in New Ross in 1995.

I have ment to ask what was that thingmagig on the headlight Of the 141/181s mostly in CIE livery.It looked like a curved pipe and I had often seen them on the Rosslare line mostly in the 70s and 80s.

That indeed sounds good. I do see where Anthony is coming from with the problems outlined,and had a chat today with him. I do value his opinion and his good advice,but did mention his words were too strong on my workbench thread,and could cause offence. Anyway I hope things work out well for this kit.

Have you had a look at http://www.irishfreightmodels.com as they have cement bubbles and indeed the two variants of cement wagons to buy.It might be hard to find MIR kits and if you do they could be expensive.

I was out in the man shed tonight and did a bit of work on the windows.

I love the tunnel and scenery so far,well done.

Got some more work done on the kit yesterday,and stuck on most of the brass etches.I got the tanks off the deltic donar chassis and now I have to see what the measurements are to get a good fit.What I plan to do is to cut and shut the deltic chassis to suit the B101 kit.I know the included brass chassis could be used but I am think of sticking the brass chassis over the deltic chassis for extra regidity,but I dont know if this will work.I will have to make plastic card sides for the fuel tanks and use the deltic weights to help in the structure being strong.Some of the cab windows will need some work in order to get them straight.

Great job on the Mk3s and break van-I went thre super glue way wtih my van. I hope to get some proper soldering gear at some stage and give it a go.

Now that is a thought. Also he never won the hill climb up coolnahorna hill outside Enniscorthy like me in 1984.And come to think of it,He was never at the famous cycling club Discos of 1984 either.Jesus 1984 was a great year for me-I must have been on something.

Great work and advice there Ger. The weights from the deltic will need to be added as much as possible as my a class deltic chassis needs more weight as she does not go up inclines very well.

Shem the wife's are no fools and will know what You are up to,and will find out how much we spend on our trains.All you can do is tell them how much they spend on clothes and shoes.lol
