  1. You are very welcome Gerhard, and ask away on the questions, thats what we are here for. Eamonn
  2. For some reason to I had it as 072,and its only when I got photos off the external hard drive did I see it was 073.As you said they were very clean The locos that is,and what a brilliant day it was. Such a pity a mk3 set was not kept for days such as that.
  3. It was a fab railtour that day and the sadly the last spin in the mk3s. All that was missing was Heirflick and a bottle of Jemmy. I had forgoten 072 brought us to Limerick, 083 brought us on the next leg. Ant was very happy to watch 083 couple up. While I got up close to 083.
  4. Was it you Ant that I saw hugging 073 at Limerick station when you thought no one was looking!.lol
  5. Thanks Noel,Allison well. Are the 071s settled in on Tara junction yet?.
  6. Some fab photos there, thanks for sharing.
  7. Sounds great Patrick, and you are mentioning two of my fav lines-North Kerry and Mallow Waterford.
  8. It was a upgrade on the main spring in the server again.lol
  9. We did not go Ant as the loco was out of action and me mam was not well last week.We might do it in the new year.
  10. A few shoots I took on "The Deeps" layout the other night of 082 on the ballast and 112 just hanging around.
  11. I remember seeing this train near Ferns station in the early 90s and was wondering what the feck it was. There is a photo in a IRRS journal with this train near Ballingrane junction.
  12. The video is wonderful and shows the joy of DCC sound. I was watching my 071s on a friends layout the other night and they run so sweet and smooth.I will post up photo of 082 on the ballast train later.
  13. I think it's dark days for us all in regards wages, keeping a job-but sure look if we have good health and model railways to keep us going, twill be grand.
  14. I don't think the b101s hauled any mk2s as they were very much sidelined to secondary work in the 70s.Its when the 071s were introduced in 1976 that they were started to be Withdrawn. As a matter of interest a IRRS journal back in 2008 did a great article on the mk2d coaches and in particular the photos of experimental liverys that were looked at in 1972 for the super train livery.
  15. The program was a bit disappointing alright. Anyone remember a series in the late 1970s which I think was called trains-of all things.I remember a 001 On the cover of the RTE guide-or did I dream all this?.
  16. Seeing the unusual is right.on some of the old Ruth's I did I had to collect mail-parcels from Enniscorthy station and Was always on the lookout for something in the sidings such as cement or ballast.Sometime in the mid 90s I Had the joy of seeing 078 returning LE back to Dublin and got so caught up forgot to collect the mail bag that I had been sent to the station for.No phone cameras back then!.
  17. Just boring plastic railcars Rich. Do call for the tea if you get a chance.
  18. Hi Rob,it's great to hear your story and thanks for sharing. This hobby is great for keeping us all on the straight and narrow, and keep up the good work. I think you are like a lot of us and got bitten by the GM bug.I am a postie myself, and while doing a duty near Wexford town a good few years ago saw a double headed baby GM ballast train and nearly Drove the van into the river Slaney rubbernecking the Train!. Eamonn
