  1. That is fantastic bud,and the mk3 pp with 121 is brill.Very realistic with the sound.
  2. Very very nice,the perfect job,looks stunning.
  3. Nice find there Bud,and what a rare view of just two MK3 pps and two 141s.. I was in Wellingtonbridge that morning and boy was It cold.
  4. Welcome Dave and as the lads have said your work looks great.
  5. Now to cause trouble and heated debate, Your Top 5 Irish locos of all time. 1.071 class-The greatest loco ever to grace this island. 2.141/181 class-outstanding over their lifetime. 3.121 class-outstanding as well. 4.A class-good when re engined and kept railways going in bad times. 5.201 GM class-a power house but not good quality. I had thought about J15s,and C MV class as well but that is what I came up with.
  6. Jeepers very very nice indeed.I think I am one who is into those yellow machines as well.Is it only in HO scale ?.
  7. Thanks Noel. I will rechassis her with hornby deltic chassis at some stage.
  8. Glad you like it Richie, however the layout is not my work and is a unused part of Ballybeg by Gerry Byrne that I am using with a new piece that will slot into it and can be poped in to my attic for handyness sake.As regards the chap by the hut-your explenation sounds good.
  9. Very smooth running alright.Your layout looks fab- fair play to you.
  10. Nice shots there. The Hornby 55 could be a good bet for any SF A class.
  11. Now that is a impressive line up.
  12. Love the train care depot Noel, layout looking really good.
  13. Finaly got around to finishing this girl. She has SSM A class detail brass parts and a Lima class 50 chassis.I am happy enough with the model apart from painting by hand the white area above windscreen which was a bugger. Handy enough to paint as not to much to do only I probably should have done a white under coat and mask off at the start for the headlight area as Anthony had suggested to me:eek:. Now the the big problem is the lima chassis is crap and a poor runner, and the new sound chip wont work properly as I would say I need to stick on more contacts on the bogies for better connection.
  14. Love the cement works and your cement stock. Great job on the attic as well.
  15. She is sd9 that came with sound and speaker on board. I can't think of the make but It is very smooth and hence I used it as I don't have a speaker for my a39.The athearn Sd9 is not a patch on this chassis.
  16. Just got the start up.
  17. No as far as I know He has not got them for sale yet. I just have one horn sound, but I can get it upgraded when it's ready.
  18. I sure will Seamus. My little one was making noise the last time I was recording,so later i will get back to it.
  19. I got a sample A39 sound chip a few weeks back and here is a quick demo on a SD9 chassis with the speaker in the fuel box. As this is a sample the chip has one short horn blast. I hope I do the sound some justice as I dont have a layout to give it a good blast and as you can see I have to go backwards and forwards on the short section of Ballybeg that I have. 20. Nice find there Riche.Paddy Neville was the driver for many years of the weed spray train because of his extensive route knowledge of lines such as the North Kerry,Ballinacourty etc. I would love to see drawings myself, and what donors could be used for it.
  21. John,This line inspired me to really get into Irish railways back in 1992 as its Level crossings,Tunnells,Viaducts and along with the scenery got me hooked, and the modeling side got me thinking. I took a photo yesterday near ballyvoyle viaduct and just as the line turns to show the coast line and a level crossing and keepers house. Stunning views from here, and if I get a chance I will post photo later. Seamus, one should always have a Baby GM in ones pocket as you never know when you need it.
  22. As I have a few days off this week I thought it would be nice to visit my favourite railway Waterford-Ballinacourty.I am including a collection of Weed killer train photos taken by David Parks during 1985 and 86,along with some of my own photos taken yesterday and back in 1993-96.The line was lifted from mid 90s till late 90s and I found a lot a places impossible to photograph now due to the overgrown conditions. The line once formed the former Mallow-Waterford which closed in 1967,however the line reopened for the Quigley Magnesite works near Dungarvan in 1970 untill it closed in July 1982.The only workings over the line were weed killer trains ( the last ran in 1988) and rail recovery trains. The last movement was in May 1990 with 146 and EM50 ran to Ballinacourty on 6th and the 9th of May. Kilmeaden station. Approach to Kildermody LC Unknown locations-possibly near Carrolls Cross. Carrolls cross Station. Kilmacthomas Station. Currabaha LC west of Kilmacthomas. Durrow Viaduct. Ballyvoyle Tunnell. Ballyvoyle Viaduct. Ballinacourty Loop.
