  1. Super job there. Were these buses the 071 of the bus fleet ie the noise?. I always remember the roar from them.
  2. a little tip guys as I worked on a production line in a electronics factory many moons ago. Before you turn off your iron put more solder on the tip area and this keeps the thing in good order and prevents corrosion and rust especialy if the iron is only used a small bit.
  3. Wow that looks good.Love the weathering.
  4. Very nice Conor, great job on the bells.
  5. Hi Ciaran, great to see you here.tell me have you seen any photos Of N McAdams collection particulary of GAA specials over the north Wexford in September 1963 when 141s operated over the then closed Line.I spotted a lovely shot at sparrowsland taken by Norman at the Wexford show-I wonder was there any more?.
  6. Garfield has mentioned where to get these books, and if you are in Dublin you could pop down to the IRRS premisses at Heuston Station. Head down the road at the right of the station and just at the entrance To the car park on the right is the IRRS building. It has a plaque on the door, and from what I remember it's Tuesday nights is the libary night. Check the web site though to be sure.
  7. There is a similar book by Michael H C Baker-The railways Of Ireland past and present-Dublin. Also another book is Rails around Dublin-a Irish railway Pictorial by Donal Murray.
  8. Thanks John,I have a love for The older beam level crossings and this kit is really nice.I am finding it hard to get time to pop out to the man shed to my work in progress.During the 90s I took great insperation from the former Waterford-Ballinacourty branch and spent time taking Photos with my late Father of LCs,tunnels, viaducts, which got me thinking that I have to start at the modelling end of things. This line seemed to have a abundance of LCs with rather large Gates near the two road crossings near Kilmackthomas.Even today few gates remain despite the track having been lifted. Eamonn
  9. It's like taking on a two front war Seamus, with A 39 lurking around waiting to be finished as well.
  10. Thanks Conor,I do hope to re chassis her in the future as the athearn sw1500 is a poor runner.
  11. I was delighted the way the van turned out Des. I drive a VW Caddy an post van at the moment and did buy a HO caddy van but is a little on the small size when beside the transit.I am on the lookout for Suitable OO vans to convert.
  12. I have two SSMs kits on the go at the moment with the Level crossing kit and 30 ton Break van I got yesterday.
  13. Some of my own weathered 141s, 187 and 142 weathered by Seamus Graham, 156 and 143 weathered by Anthony.
  14. Yes nice photos there. The NIR blue is growing On me to,however the IR livery is my Fav.
  15. IR back in the late 80s were very much under pressure for rolling stock. If I am not mistaken the mk 2 a-b coaches came from Vic Berrys scrap yard to plug the shortage. The mk3a coaches were former demo coaches built by BREL In the 80s for export market.
  16. The sound chip that was supplied was the lok pilot which as you know Is not cheap.I don't know Seamus if there is a cheaper chip that could be used just for the EGV sound. It does add realism to the train though.
  17. The sound chip was done by Mr Sound Guy.The EGV was built by Gerry Byrne with Bill Bedford overlays and even has a smoke generator built in.If any one wants one,I am sure Garrath in the Belfast shop Could get them.
  18. Here is a video I took of a MK3 EGV with sound and lighting that I got a loan of.Click on photo to view.
  19. Some photos of the MK3 a coaches. The first photo shows the driving trailer that work was carried out on but never finished.
  20. I have to say I am very happy with this site and thanks to Stephen for providing a well run site and the fact that we have a number of mods keeping a eye on things.
  21. Would a class 20 or 25 sound chip be close on the B101s?.
