  1. I said I'd go out with my camera just to be sure in case it was going to Kilkenny but I forgot about it too. How do you know where the train is destined for if it is a mystery train? Great pics by the way.
  2. I was using elestic bands to hold a container on the wagons and then heated it. But I must have been heating it too much as the resin was becoming very soft and flexible and the bands were ruining the shape. I will try a more soft handed approach to heating it tonight.
  3. Irish Rail said on Facebook that the MK3 EGVs will return to service this month. But this was over a month ago and before this incident.
  4. My MIR bogie flats are bent up which causes some of the wheels to not even reach the rails and containers to not lie flats and tend to rotate on the wagon after a while. They are painted so I don't want to put them in boiled water and I have tried the hair dryer method but the resin returns to bent shape it was before I heated them once cooled. Does anyone have a solution to this as this problem is really doing my head in? Thanks.
  5. I'll be out tomorrow and saturday filming so if i see it going to Waterford i'll let you know.
  6. Nice pics Tom. I got a few pics of that tamper at work last night. Did you see 071 in Waterford today?
  7. Lovely shots Tom. Any idea what number that loco with the flats was?
  8. I'm really tempted to get 8113. Is there going to be another southern 071 release?
  9. Are the sound chips from Murphy Models? How much are they?
  10. By the way Tom, 071 is on the Westport timber train at the moment so it should roll into Waterford Wednesday evening and leave around 11 Friday morning.
  11. Great video! Really enjoyed the clips of 084 and 071.
  12. It is said that the Dapol prestwin chassis is best and has many parts that can be used to make pipes and other detail for the bubbles as well as just being useful for a chassis. Studio Scale Models supply a brass detailing kit for the detail on the tanks and also a set tranfers. I'm just wondering how you plan to make the tanks as I have tried using the old kinder eggs and found them to be a bit too small so I began gluing two of the smaller ends of the current kinder eggs to a piece of pipe to get the correct length.
  13. Thanks heirflick. Looks like it has been carrying that damage for a while. http://eiretrains.com/Photo_Gallery/Irish%20Locomotives/071%20Class/slides/071_20110610_001_CC_JA.html
  14. I'm really looking forward to the flats Des. Is there any way you would consider producing brass beer cages like the MIR ones?
  15. It's off a baby gm I should think. Hopefully there will be some orange doors and window frames flung on to brighten the new livery up a bit more like with the freight livery.
  16. Caught 071 in its new livery today hauling the Westport to Waterford timber train. Thanks to ttc0169 for letting me know it was running.
  17. Great pic Noel. Is that working to Waterford on Wednesday?
  18. I just started this thread for anyone who may have videos or pictures of the Golden Vale railtour. Here's a video I took of 072 hauling the cravens on Lavistown Loop. Does anyone know if and when 072 is travelling light engine back to Dublin?
  19. Great stuff! I love your weathering.
  20. Lovely pics Noel, couple her up to the DFDS and send her my way;)
  21. I didn't even think of 084, I assumed he was trying to describe new livery.
