With all due respect Andrew….as I have said in a previous thread- IRM models were not too visible at recent UK model exhibitions.

Retro liveried locomotive 071 works the Waterford-Lakeview freight yard empty timber train through Tara junction station-and after arrival there the locomotive was uncoupled and went to the MPD for servicing, The freight yard pilot locomotive 143 then shunted the train into position for loading.
-
10-15 high powered locomotives would be required for Irish operations, The 071s will be withdrawn in 3-5 years so unless IE do a class 69 job on the 201s-there won’t be any other options in the short term.

Low floor container wagons I’m told-but yes DJ-no mention of any future motive power….which is badly needed at this stage.

Thank you to all the responses to this thread, It was not ment as a criticism just an observation, As most people who know me - I have and continue to support IRM by purchasing their products in the past, present and future. Long may it last. Kind regards Noel.
-
Thanks Fran and Stephen for your contribution, Just on point 4 above….would it not make more sense to have one dedicated cabinet solely for the Irish models and not have them mixed up with the UK models at the UK exhibitions??

Track rubber and a track cleaning coach for the hard to reach areas. I use one single DCC controller

This is not a rant but an advisory……. I write this having attended the model world live exhibition at the NEC Birmingham today and again tomorrow, I also attended model rail Scotland last February, I have noticed on both occasion's that the Accurascale stand does not have a section solely devoted to IRM products - past, present and future-granted there was the Hunslet, bubble cement and two axle vans on show - but no ICRs,Park royal or pre production 800 class steam locomotive, As we all know the Irish scene is very much in the minority so I would have thought that in such a major UK exhibition circuit that the Irish products should be promoted more as there are quite a few UK modellers on IRM and are interested in the Irish scene.

Thanks Bob-they were kits from MIR-a pleasure to build nearly 20 years ago now.

The Radio train returns…. In a joint operation between Bus Eireann and Irish rail we see the Executive train arrive at platform one behind 073 - as two PD type buses off load their passengers for an evening of fun on the train.
