  1. Two are fitted with sound chips, while the rest have all Bachmann standard chips.
  2. Great news from Jim Poots model buses will be the release of the long awaited 1970's CIE M class buses, Jim intends to release the kits at the MRSI model railway exhibition in Raheny on the October bank holiday weekend, I'm looking forward to these particular buses as they have been a favourite of mine for a long time, Well done to Jim for producing this bus which I'm sure will be of a high standard-just like the rest of his excellent kits.
  3. Hi Lads, As you know my layout Tara Jctn has been converted to DCC control over the last few weeks-and I'm definatly NOT going back...., One thing that I cant seem to understand/set up properly is the Start Voltage,Top voltage,Acceleration, deceleration etc on my 201 locos, An example; Loco 220 and 221 go like a rocket when the control knob is only turned to (1) so I cant use these for shunting anything, however locos 201,202,210,229 have the right amount of speed-until you try and shunt coaches slowly into the valeting plant-they go a little too fast and cause the coaches to derail, My 141 locos have the right settings and havent caused any problems, Can anyone suggest/recommend what settings I should try on these locos in order to achieve slow speed shunting and fast running on the mainlines, I'm also having trouble with the headlights not coming on in the direction of travel-and in some locos the cab lights dont work either. I'm using the Gaugemaster Prodigy advance 2 as my controller, Any help is much appreciated-Thanks lads.
  4. Well done on your layout BosKonay,Its coming along nicely, you have a great variety of rolling stock also.
  5. Great job on the A class Eamonn.Well done.
  6. Simple-but very effective,an excellent job there Glenderg.
  7. It operated from Heuston to M3 Parkway and back this morning via Northwall.
  8. Lovely shots there Eamonn, thanks for sharing.
  9. Evening lads, A few photos of my new DCC controlled Tara Junction, yes you were right Anthony-it certainly has opened my eyes, Two 201s are fitted with sound chips-229 at the carriage sidings and 220 at the running shed, they really make a difference to the overall layout when ticking over, I also have a new railcar servicing shed for my 2600 DMUs, Certainly DCC is the way to go-particularly with sound fitted locos.
  10. Fantastic job there Eamonn-a real 1970's scene complete with realistic semaphore signals-well done.

    30 Ton Brake Van

Well done George and Eamonn-you certainly done a great job on those brake vans.
  12. Lovely job there on the KD Anthony.
  13. Excellent weathering job there Gareth.
  14. Morning lads, Work is progressing on the refurbished Tara Junction,I got the DCC control up and running this evening and managed to get four passenger trains moving at the same time on the new high speed lines-a lovely sight, after programming more locos,my attention turned the the loco depot, again it was great to see locos being moved independently at incredibly slow speeds and with lights on around the depot as the four trains were passing on the mainlines, I also have a new railcar stabling siding and depot for my 2600 fleet,I'll post some photos when I'm finished, It was well worth the changeover to DCC control, but I still have a lot to learn about the system. Thanks again to Anthony,Enniscorthyman and Gerry Byrne for their helpful advice.
  15. Have you any photos/drawings of those inspection cars? That can easilly be arranged....
  16. Personally David I'd be interested in a 2700 railcar and a Mk4 control car/DVT or even an IE inspection car-e.g no's 721, 722 or 723-(with interior detail and figures and lights of course).
  17. Hi Irishthump, yes its the Advance 2 that I'm waiting for, glad to hear its a great piece of kit.
  18. Eamonn,Thanks for posting the photos of Gerry's excellent layout.it's a credit to him.
  19. Garfield-If you check out any late 1970's/1980's photos of the 071s in Supertrain livery, you can see that plate on some locos,I cant remember the name of the particular website, but I seen 077 with that plate, and also the publicity photo of 071 at Inchicore before entry into service has the plate visible. Paddy Murphy has certainly set a very high standard of fine detail on these models of the 071/111 and well done to him for his time and effort in getting the detail just right.
  20. Hmmmm-those council workmen,I'll have to speak with the foreman tomorrow.....
