  1. :tumbsup:It sure is a work of art, really captures the heavy structure of the girder bridge, look forward to the finished product.....well done..
  2. Yes-I agree, some weathering powders shoud give a nice effect on the underframe and bogies.......Transfers were from Des at Studio scale models.
  3. Thanks lads,Sean-well spotted...!!! To add to the suburban scene,I picked up a Class 350 EMU while attending the Model rail exhibition in Glasgow last weekend,as in conversation with driver301 he pointed out that it would be the nearest body type to our 29000 DMUs-albeit with some cab rebuilding etc, And yes Paul-you were right....here is the finished DMU doing the rounds on the fast line earlier, The interior of the coaches and each cab have lights fitted which go well with the Enterprise set, Here are a few photos and a video....enjoy. 29101 passes 6101. 29101 passes the Per way depot.
  4. Evening lads, I got my three coach Mk3 Push/pull set from the Model shop in Belfast during the week, thanks Gareth, I've allocated sound fitted loco 220 to work the train, The rear three coaches are some spare Mk3s that will be modified with some hopper type windows in the future, Here are a few photos of the push/pull set around Tara Junction. 6101 leading the push-pull set with 220 propelling at the rear. The Dundalk-Bray push pull passes the down Enterprise.
  5. Excellent work there Anthony...well done....
  6. Nice find there Pat,but are you sure its not one of hidden agendas Sulzers under construction????

    New IÉ logo...

Rumour has it that 077 will be let loose on a load test on an IWT liner to Ballina next week sometime I'm told.
  10. 072 failed today north of Foxford while hauling the Northwall to Ballina IWT liner, help arrived from Ballina in the form of loco 075 and hauled the entire liner to Ballina. http://s719.beta.photobucket.com/user/ttc0169/media/038-1.jpg.html?sort=3&o=4#/user/ttc0169/media/045.jpg.html?sort=3&o=5&_suid=1360791054630048552047772718215
  11. Thanks lads, Kieran-no video just yet,the motor and pickups need more work as its not a great runner at the moment.
  12. Afternoon lads, I've nearly finished the Sulzer loco, just one or two minor details, Here are a few photos of the loco on a test run and hauling a typical 1970s freight-The SSM brake van has still to be built and eventually added to the rear of this train...enjoy. Sulzer loco 101. Being overtaken by the Enterprise 101 hauls the loose coupled goods at 35 mph.
  13. Welcome aboard Frank-you have a nice layout.I like the different eras featured, well done.
  14. Thanks Richie,I liked the Supertrain livery on the B101s,I've been looking at photos of them in various books and IRRS journals-so I think I'll go with that livery as it will suit the 1970s era on the layout,It will be a nice addition on short freights or pilot duties, It has to be expressway livery again for the M class-I am very happy with the previous ones that I built and painted in that livery.
  15. Evening lads, A small update this evening sees SSMs Sulzer kit and an M class bus ready for the paintshop with some minor finishing work to be done over the weekend.
  16. About time you came on board Paul....your welcome....another valuable and skilled modeller on here.....
  17. Great work Kieran, Ger and Eamonn, I'm watching this project with interest as I received my Sulzer kit off Des and the Deltic chassis off Seamus G over the last few days and can't wait to make a start on it, Keep up the good work lads.
  18. According to the book-"Rails around Dublin"by Donal Murray, the section on Inchicore shows a photo of a wrecked 145 with a photo of the rebuilt 145 below that, 146 demolised the buffer stop at Tralee station about 15 years ago on arrival from Mallow early one morning while hauling the liner/mail-ending up on Rock street, 186+144 were hauling the Knock special to Claremorris in September 1988 when they ran into some cattle that were being herded across the line, derailing both locos, 185+187 ran away for a short distance on the Rosslare line about 10 years ago, 152 developed a brake defect while travelling light engine from Inchicore to Athlone a few years ago and passed a signal at danger, the driver needing a new pair of boxer shorts after that one ....Most of the 141/181s were withdrawn within a few weeks of that incident happening, 211 was the loco involved in the Knockcroghery derailment in November 1997, 202 collided with the rear of a timber train wagon which was fouling the loop road at Ballinasloe-the first 201 to suffer accident damage.
  19. Des, I'll take five off you please.
  20. Nice work Sean-well done, the Fert wagon looks great.
  21. Kieran-Your layout just keeps getting better and better with every instalment-simply superb scenes, well done.
  22. No Vincent,I worked out of Ballina station,so I know the yard and Ballina branch and Mayo line like the back of my hand.
