  1. Thanks very much Stephen' date=' Another favourite 1980s train was the CIE liner/mail, Again thanks to Paddy Murphy's recent release I was able to recreate this earlier, The make up of this train was an 071 class loco, two TPOs a BR steam heating van and at the rear a few 62'9" air braked wagons, Here I have loco 086SA,2176,2177 TPOs,SHV 3189-and six 62'9" wagons-one with some BELL containers on board, Here are a few photos-with a video up later.... The CIE liner/mail. Three BELL containers on wagon 30501. The liner/mail passes the bogie cement.
  2. Here is a photo of 086,I've weathered the bogies with those excellent weathering powders which really makes the loco even more impressive.
  3. Yes Stephen' date='I removed the pantograph and used some plasticard to cover over that roof area Looking at it again the 350 could also be used as a doner for a four car 8600 DART unit with a rebuilt cab and a straight repaint only needed to complete, Thanks lads, I've spent the evening adding the air brake pipes to 086SA and 088,they really improve what is already an impressive loco....thank you Paddy Murphy... 088 at the loco depot, 086SA shares the holding siding with 160+156 1977 original livery on 088 beside 1984 livery on 086 with 077 which is in the latest slate grey livery. Eamonn I hope to have a video of the locos in action over the weekend...
  4. Anthony, you can run around on three of the sidings-(named the gantry, the Fert and the through roads) with hand points at either end of the yard and motorised crossover points with a shunt signal at the Manulla end to allow access to the mainline, In the good old branch train days, there was another crossover at the platform to allow the loco off the branch to run around, but this was removed when the Mini CTC was introduced as its only a 2800 railcar that uses that road now, If you have the space which I think you have-then I would put in some points in,as you then have lots of options with locos coming in on the CPWs,running around and coupling to either a timber or standard set if wagons to work back out again-as has been done in Ballina on several occasions in the past.
  5. And you won't be sorry there Fran....I can't wait to put it hauling my Mk3 and Mk2 Super-train liveried sets...
  6. At long last-this new arrival is heading in the Tara Junction direction....
  7. The 09.20 from Cork has just arrived at platform 5 at Heuston formed by set 4002 being pushed by 223.
  8. Lovely scenes there Anthony, the run around in your freight yard is just like the real operation that happens in Ballina freight yard every day, A reach stacker and some containers will really add to that particular scene-well done overall. The real 233 has yet to operate the IWT liner and is the only one of the active fleet yet to work that liner.
  9. Had a great day last year, and looking forward to a return vist this year....
  10. Same here-I see I was the branch train Guard on that day-along with the now retired driver.
  11. Anthony-I have the same problem with my 8208 when operating light engine.it's fitted with a MM chip, would the same settings apply to this chip as heirflicks Bachmann?
  12. Wow-excellent work there Arran, will have to get a few of these to go behind a Supertrain liveried 141s and forthcoming 071s...
  13. Excellent work there Tom,they look really well in the head on view behind 071,and capture the heavy looking nature of the real thing.....
  14. Brilliant just bloody brilliant, brings back great memories of a cold start on the early morning Ballina branch train with the 071s Well done Gareth, that's another chip for the forthcoming IE liveried 073 or 078.
  15. Well done Sean, excellent videos, keep up the good work.
