  1. Welcome back Amiens street......a mini CTC computer control panel, nice one Stephen...
  2. Evening lads, After giving excellent service on the layout it was time for the Enterprise to get its first bogie and brake overhaul-(wheel cleaning).. Here we see the set being led by DVT 9001 down the wash road-under the watchful eye of the depot supervisor Andy 9001 getting a brush wash, The set was replaced by a seven piece Mk3 set hauled by 078, In this photo we see 088 heading for the fuelling point after being the coaching stock pilot over the last few days, with the Mk3 set at full pelt on the mainline Later on 081SA was sent down from the shed to couple up to the Supertrain Mk2s which haven't been out road for a while-this set has now replaced the Galway liveried Mk2 The shunter pulls out the buffers on 5209 and is about to couple up 081. 081 hauls the Mk2 set slowly out of the siding under the supervision of the shunter.

  6. Good man thanks Wiggy, that's the guy alright.
  7. A good idea Anthony-I'm just back from Ballina freight yard where I took a few photos of the Reach stacker there, I'll probably repaint mine in the cream and white livery of the real thing in the future.
  8. First of all your welcome to the site StrettyBoy, Seamus Graham in Portlaoise,The Model shop in Belfast and Marks models all do the ballast wagons, The tamper was bought off Gareth in the model shop in Belfast.
  9. It will look well on Ballykay.
  10. Thanks UP6936, Another useful addition to the layout arrived today in the shape of the newly released Oxford reach stacker-a beautiful model, Here are a selection of photos of the reach stacker in action at my small container depot.
  11. Some photos of this evenings operations sees Enterprise DVT-9001,Arrow railcar 2601 and Mk3 P/P control car 6101 operate rush hour services at the Junction The Enterprise was being pushed by 227 while 220 was pushing the Mk3 set. Later on during the evening,086sa developed brake trouble while hauling the Supertrain Mk3s around the layout so it was removed and replaced by 081sa Here we see 086sa getting new brake blocks while sister locos 085 and 077-(which was working the autoballaster train) also await attention with 176+177 and 234 await their next turn on the new wheel lathe.
  12. Looking great Kieran-love the goods shed well done.
  13. Thanks P....your overdue a visit...see you soon.
  14. Spotted crossing the bridge on the low loader on Tara junction earlier was a new arrival loco 8113 Followed by Galway liveried Mk2 EGV 5601 After arrival at the MPD work was starting to off load the loco using the mobile crane The depot supervisior and staff have a briefing about the crane lift....
  15. With thanks to Brian Collins-two VGs entered service this evening on Tara Junctions number 4 and 83 route They certainly are excellent models and I'm looking forward to supporting more releases in the future...here are a few photos of the buses on my layout... The modern day scene with the two VGs passing each other on the bridge over the running lines, Also bought at the exhibition was an Aer Lingus ford transit van which can be seen in front. VG 33 heads east on route 83. The other VG heads back into the town operating route 4. The two VGs pass each other.
  16. Thanks lads-another loco was bought earlier at the Dun Laoghaire exhibition,so a visit to the wheel lathe will be the first move followed by some mainline trials,I'll post some photos during the week.
  17. Evening lads, Thank you again for your comments about my layout, Over the last few weeks I've added another small section which had extended the Motive power depot, By accident I had left the tidy track wheel cleaner on the new section when I realised that I could actually fit the unit to the baseboard,so I cut out a section and put the wheel cleaner in... I added a siding to connect with the unit, With this added I have now my own"wheel lathe" just like Inchicore and I can now drive locos on to the"wheel lathe"and have cleaner wheels in the process..here are a few photos.... Loco 201 gets its wheels cleaned on the new wheel lathe. A closer view of loco 201 and the wheel lathe operator to the left of the picture. An aerial view of the wheel cleaner in action with the shed removed. And finally another view of the wheel cleaner with 201 and 8208 in the backround awaiting its next turn of duty.
  18. Afternoon lads, A few updates from recent operations at the Junction. Loco 229 was used to assist a failed tamper 751 233 inside the running shed receiving attention 234 on the Tara Jctn test train comprising of a BR steam heating van,a Cravens coach and a Dutch van
  19. Nice one Kieran, your station reminds me more of Ennis now as its on a curve-a connection on the top left of the station could provide you with access to a freight yard, and an overbridge at the other end could provide a scenic break-check out Eiretrains photo site for details. Well done.
  20. Well after an eventfull evening with a loco and an ICR failing,it wasn't possible to get 077 and 088 alongside each other as when I checked at Ballyhaunis 077 was at the wrong end of the HOBS train-so I concentrated on 088-here she is after arrival in foggy Ballina station at 21:05
  21. And I'm awaiting her to arrive down west,I intend to get her alongside sister loco 077 at Ballyhaunis later on.
