  4. Thanks lads for your replies-a quick update from operations earlier 30 years seperate the two liveries on these 071s CIE 1980s liveried 086 is seen here awaiting the road out of the goods loop with a laden fertilizer special while out on the main line 2013 liveried IE loco 077 is seen at the head of the empty timber train, I can't recall if any of the CIE 071s worked any fertlizer trains-(but they do on Tara Jctn),maybe jhb or hgricer can shed some of their specialist knowledge on this..... 011077 and 086SA An overview of the MPD sees from the top 011077,086SA RPSI B141,146+184,082,083,112,8113,087,088 and 080,
  5. I agree with Andy-the backscence blends in very well with the overall scene...well done Kieran.
  6. Well done Andy-very atmospheric-the natural light really helps to set the scene.....
  7. Morning lads, Two more of the M class type buses rolled off the production line over the last few days....this time as M75 in Bus Eireann red and white livery with a yellow stripe-one of the first liverys for Bus Eireann during 1987/1988, The second is the unusual sight of an M class in the school bus livery of yellow and white, namely M25.... After giving years of service to CIE-a battle weary M25 needs some TLC and a wash....!!!
  8. Thanks Paul and Stephen, 112 returned to traffic earlier thanks to the quick work of the fitters, Here it is outside on the storage roads in the company of 086 to it's left and 088 and 080 on the right....
  9. Hi lads, A Saturday afternoon on Tara junction sees NIR loco 112 haul the laden bogie bulk cement train Shortly after the photo was taken 112 ground to a halt....after a few minutes it was clear he was going nowhere......assistance came from the south in the form of 8113 which was heading to the ballast loading point to pick up some HOBS wagons... What a catch I said-two NIR locos on the jumbos..!! It wasn't long before 8113 crossed over and coupled to the failed 112.... 8113 hauls 112 and the heavy train towards the MPD-where loco 203 is waiting to take over... 8113 propels 112 into the depot under the watchful eye of Stephen the depot foreman, In the foreground locos 086,088 and 077 are awaiting various mechanical and brake exams. 203 couples to the cement and worked it forward to its destination-45 minutes late..... While 112 is dumped alongside long term withdrawn 181 loco no'191, 112 has a blown turbo charger but should be back into traffic next week.......

  18. Hi Heirflick, Those are hand operated points and in some circumstances they can be trailed through by locomotives etc without causing any damage, they are not connected to any CTC or signalling system, but are normally operated by the shunter.
