  1. Looking great Kieran-love the goods shed well done.
  2. Thanks P....your overdue a visit...see you soon.
  3. Spotted crossing the bridge on the low loader on Tara junction earlier was a new arrival loco 8113 Followed by Galway liveried Mk2 EGV 5601 After arrival at the MPD work was starting to off load the loco using the mobile crane The depot supervisior and staff have a briefing about the crane lift....
  4. With thanks to Brian Collins-two VGs entered service this evening on Tara Junctions number 4 and 83 route They certainly are excellent models and I'm looking forward to supporting more releases in the future...here are a few photos of the buses on my layout... The modern day scene with the two VGs passing each other on the bridge over the running lines, Also bought at the exhibition was an Aer Lingus ford transit van which can be seen in front. VG 33 heads east on route 83. The other VG heads back into the town operating route 4. The two VGs pass each other.
  5. Thanks lads-another loco was bought earlier at the Dun Laoghaire exhibition,so a visit to the wheel lathe will be the first move followed by some mainline trials,I'll post some photos during the week.
  6. Evening lads, Thank you again for your comments about my layout, Over the last few weeks I've added another small section which had extended the Motive power depot, By accident I had left the tidy track wheel cleaner on the new section when I realised that I could actually fit the unit to the baseboard,so I cut out a section and put the wheel cleaner in... I added a siding to connect with the unit, With this added I have now my own"wheel lathe" just like Inchicore and I can now drive locos on to the"wheel lathe"and have cleaner wheels in the process..here are a few photos.... Loco 201 gets its wheels cleaned on the new wheel lathe. A closer view of loco 201 and the wheel lathe operator to the left of the picture. An aerial view of the wheel cleaner in action with the shed removed. And finally another view of the wheel cleaner with 201 and 8208 in the backround awaiting its next turn of duty.
  7. Afternoon lads, A few updates from recent operations at the Junction. Loco 229 was used to assist a failed tamper 751 233 inside the running shed receiving attention 234 on the Tara Jctn test train comprising of a BR steam heating van,a Cravens coach and a Dutch van
  8. Nice one Kieran, your station reminds me more of Ennis now as its on a curve-a connection on the top left of the station could provide you with access to a freight yard, and an overbridge at the other end could provide a scenic break-check out Eiretrains photo site for details. Well done.
  9. Well after an eventfull evening with a loco and an ICR failing,it wasn't possible to get 077 and 088 alongside each other as when I checked at Ballyhaunis 077 was at the wrong end of the HOBS train-so I concentrated on 088-here she is after arrival in foggy Ballina station at 21:05
  10. And I'm awaiting her to arrive down west,I intend to get her alongside sister loco 077 at Ballyhaunis later on.
  11. Afternoon lads, after seeing gm171kks video of 209 on the DFDS liner (nice one Sean),it gave me an idea-so after a chat with the loco controller at Tara Jctns MPD, 209 was allocated to work the DFDS CPW liner and is seen here passing the Ammonia and bogie bulk cement. 209 passes 080 and 112. Another easily modelled train is the weekly Limerick-Inchicore wagon transfer which can have various types of wagons attached 077 is seen here hauling an ex works single bogie timber wagon on the transfer which is destined for the timber loading yard. 077 hauling wagon no'30540.
  12. Lovely job Kieran-it reminds me of the twin arches bridge that's between Islandbridge Jctn and Cabra, which has also tight clearances.
  13. Excellent 1970s era layout well done.
  14. Yes-it sure was a fantastic day out an excellent exhibition and museum which I will look forward to going back to in the future.
  15. Thanks Patrick, I've upgraded my phone so at last here is a video of some sound fitted locos on the Layout and 077 moving around the depot
  16. A 1970s or 1980s scene was recreated earlier at the bus depot with a selection of M class,C class and E class buses awaiting their next turn of duty The SS class school buses have been parked up for the summer months. The three CIE tours allocated buses-two Ms and one C class await their next duties.
  17. Thanks lads for all your comments On Tara junction earlier, loco 209 was due for an exam at the depot so after it hauled up the Enterprise to the platform it was uncoupled and replaced by 227,here are a selection of photos of the operation The shunter uncouples 209 from the Enterprise while 227 ticks over on the down line. 227 and 209. The shunter guides the driver of 227 slowly towards the Mk3 Enterprise van. And.....Clunk...the Dellner coupler of 227 couples the the EGV...and is checked by the shunter. 227 works the Enterprise for the first time this evening....a video will be posted shortly.
  18. Here you go Colm,I think that it's only Boskonay and myself that have bought the excellent D+M model De Dietrich's so far...well worth the money 8208 and Mk3 Enterprise on Tara Junction. DVT 9001. Coach 9101 DVT 9001 leading an up Enterprise,
  19. Vincent-you should have gone up to the bank that overlooks the station for afternoon photos, If you go to the platform before 13:00 then photos like these that I took a few weeks ago are possible

    MK3 Scrapping

It's a shame that the IE Mk3 fleet will be scrapped, I travelled from Norwich to London on Sunday evening in a Mk3 coach behind 90011 and what a run to Liverpool street station with 110 mph operation being reached on several occasions, I think IE should have refurbished the Mk3 fleet to get at least another 20 years out of them-no comment needed about Mk4s or ICRs.... A classic coach First class-reminded me of the Citygold coaches. 90011 at the blocks at Liverpool street station after a superb run from Norwich with a classic train in tow.
  21. Thanks must go to the local Gardai who provided traffic flow control in their ford transit which can be seen behind SP102. SP 104 passes the scene while operating the Cork-Galway expressway service
