Early Saturday morning we see activity at Lakeview freight yard, 143+130 have arrived from the MPD to shunt and work the bogie bulk cement liner, 001 arrives LE from the MPD and has been coupled to the laden Fertliser liner with 036 coupled to the BELL liner. 177+129 are prepared to work the empty timber train.

  8. Evening rush hour on Tara junction…. Both 2600 railcars have been fitted with an upgraded chassis which have sound speakers fitted as standard, They also have interior lighting and have seated commuters and of course drivers….!!!!

  14. Just a thought….. Would it be worth the MRSI and SDMRC and possibly Wexford MRC and NDMRC pooling their resources and maybe use the RDS as a single venue for future events? With the increase in Irish railway modelling in this country surely an annual event similar to model rail Glasgow and Warley could be arranged and marketed with the potential of UK clubs being invited to exhibit their layouts etc, Maybe it is one to discuss for the future.
  15. The cattle bank siding has now been relaid with standard gauge track… More rolling stock is due to arrive hopefully before the Christmas. Note-the signal cabin has gained “new”windows and a name board.
  16. It’s the low rail adhesion season on Tara junction, we see the first of the 001 class locomotives-(054)-prepare to be moved onto the wheel lathe at the MPD.

Well done to all concerned with organising the exhibition after a difficult few years -the main hall was a bit cramped,but enjoyed the layouts-Rathmichael,Castletown,Kildare and Bill’s Donegal layout were the favourites, It was a shame that Chris Dyer didn’t make it-(through no fault of his own) Enjoyed meeting the usual suspects, IRM,Murphy models were perfectly placed in the main room, Roll on Blackrock in 2023

  23. Will the models feature the external digital destination displays on the front and side of the coaches ? And would the destinations be capable of being changed?
  24. Great to see these 141/181s returning with different running numbers…fitted with speakers too
