Another productive day at Maam cross, Work began to prepare the Mk3 sleeper coach for its first guests….the staff, The first two photos are the before and after shots My room-and the view can be seen towards the end of the photos The coach is in great condition considering it is 40 years old-built in 1983, it was washed with bogies and one end painted, The slave bogies are from a former 8100 series DART EMU-the LHB plate on the side states built also in 1983- 417 replies

Former Caledonian Mk3 sleeper coach has now arrived at Maam cross and will be followed by some more former CIE coaches today and tomorrow, The coach will be used for staff accommodation and is the first of its type to be preseeved in the Republic of Ireland. On the eve on what promises to be a great tour for the RPSI-the first 201 locomotive to work to Sligo in passenger service,we see locomotive 216 work the empty RPSI Cravens set through Tara junction on driver training runs. Let’s hope we pass the Sligo-Northwall 001 hauled BELL liner and the Mullingar-Connolly Cravens passenger hauled by 177+129 Retro 073 passes with the empty timber to Ballina.

It’s going to be a “Good Friday”for passenger and freight/perway movements on Tara junction. A rare double header on the two axle ballast hopper train sees locomotives 132+152 work a laden train through the junction-check out the operation of the semaphore signal in the opening sequence 190+187 work a Northwall-Belfast Adelaide mixed Fertliser / container / and Guinness bogie liner Locomotives 056 and 027 are in formation as they pass through with bank holiday relief Cravens sets from Sligo and Ballina, And finally inspection car 722 is seen passing through while en route from Kildare plant shop to Athlone.
