  1. There was a great turnout today at Wexford,great to meet so many and I was delighted to be asked by Gerry Byrne to operate his GWR themed layout Shunters yard for a couple of hours
  2. They sure do Jason and hopefully a possible future project for IRM.

It was a “Good Friday” for operations on Tara junction. 087 working the Tralee-Heuston CIE Mk3 set serves the platform as 036 is held at signal TJ 101 with a laden fertiliser train from Foynes to Ballina. 160+183 are coupled to a CIE Mk2 set working a non stop Heuston-Limerick relief service, 018 works a Northwall-Waterford BELL liner as 143+130 work in the opposite direction. 220 working a Cravens set departs on an Athlone-Heuston relief service,as 129 propels a set of Park Royal coaches back to the platform to work the branch service. — at Tara Junction Station

  5. Easter wouldn’t be the same with the running of the overload Guinness liner 190+184 are in charge of four bogies LP and two MX wagons.
  6. Lakeview freight yard is now locked up for the Easter weekend.
  7. A new addition to the DMU fleet…seen here shortly after release from Doncaster works the 108 is working a Doncaster-Leeds local service.
  8. Another useful addition to the buses of Tara junction.
  9. CIE liveried locomotives 086,001,126+161 and 007 are on shed with 126+161 at the newly commissioned servicing point on Tara junction.

  12. Great to see so many familiar faces in what was a fantastic day out… A selection of my photos from the day Photo 1-06:30 at Inchicore to prepare the train for service. Photo 2-081 at Drogheda Photo 3-returning from Dundalk just coming off the Boyne viaduct Photo 4-rounding the curve into Drogheda Photo 5-driver change at Heuston platform 10, Photo 6-Portarlington,waiting for the road West Photo 7- arrival in Galway Photo 8-arrival back at Connolly station.
  13. The lever frame has been placed inside the signal cabin and roof felt have now been completed, Next up are the windows and slates.

  15. That was a shame as they were well built,and there was a market for the 2600s and the De Dietrich coaches. Maybe IRM might do something in a few years.

  17. 31-131 rests in the siding for the evening as her train is prepared by the 08 for dispatch tomorrow.

  19. An early 1990s scene being recreated here as we see an Irish rail ERF tractor unit with a tri axle bulk cement tanker commence operating from the cement silo area of the Lakeview freight yard as unloading of two axle bubble cement wagons has commenced.

After encountering reliability issues with the original motor under Arrow railcar 2601+2602,I decided it was time to upgrade, A bargain purchase at Model rail Scotland of a Class 150 DMU enabled me to upgrade with ease,with the added bonus of interior lights and seating-(not possible on the original chassis) A built in speaker will allow me to transfer the original sound file onto the chip. Here are a few photos of the Arrow as she prepares to depart on an evening service to Kildare.
  21. A CIE themed weekend on Tara junction, Cravens,Mk2ds and Mk3 are the passenger stock on show while two BELL liners and a two axle hopper train also make an appearance.
