Recently acquired locomotive 171 had damage to the coupling and NEM pocket so I removed the coupling and detailed the front with a coupling hook, and air braked pipes-it was paired up with 189 to work a GAA special from Galway to Dublin Connolly formed of IRM MK2 a/b coaches.

The superb detailed IRM IE Mk2 a/bs on Tara junction , Locomotive 220 which is in original livery passes through Tara junction working the 17:00 FO from Dublin Heuston to Ballina. 130+143 pass through with the 15:00 Northwall-Waterford BELL liner, 174+133 work the 13:00 Waterford-Northwall BELL liner 054 works a relief Park Royal set from Athlone-Heuston. I have added two of the MM Mk2s and the EGV 4601 to make a seven piece set. Day and night scenes below-bring back memories of me working the real coaches twenty years ago.

Happened when the Cravens sets went through a rough patch with the GSVs breaking down and steam heating pipes puncturing during the winter of 1995-they were replaced by Mk2 a/bs on the 17:00 to Ballina on Fridays only-a welcome change for the passengers and added more variety for me with 2x121/141 and 071s working the trains.
