A great day out was had on the railtour,well done to all concerned-the Arrow looked well in the sunshine. Pictures are from Cork yard,station and Dundalk.

On this day 30 years ago-16/05/1994 -the Arrow railcars began operation on the Dublin Heuston- Kildare route, To commemorate this milestone we see 2601+2602 operate a special service though Tara junction. As the year is 1994-we see 001 class locomotive 056 work a laden ammonia from Marino point to Shelton abbey,and 048 on the ballast hopper train.

Class 47-47404 becomes the newest member of the Ashburton grove motive power fleet-the second 47 and the twentieth locomotive on the layout.

With thanks to Michael Walsh for the transfers-SE 1 is seen here working a service on route 22 although branded for route 52, M & C class buses are seen on the high street as the summer sunshine beams down on the busy park scene.

I purchased a stainless steel BR double arrow sign at Model world live at the NEC last weekend-and fixed it into position during the week on Ashburton grove.

@derek-I recently purchased 174, it’s a normal noise for new locomotives - run in the loco-30 mins in either direction and then remove the bogies and check the amount of lubrication on the gears underneath-I had to put a drop of grease on them,the loco has considerably quietened down since.

The connecting gangway door is indeed a shade of yellow instead of the dayglo red on the 1994 original version-this is due to current H&S requirements, where the dayglo is not allowed on the railcar connecting gangway door.
