  1. Id be more worried if it had scorch marks over the windows. Hopefully the structural frame hasn t been compramised with the heat cause if it has shes a goner. Practically everything else could be repaired or replaced IF theres enough finance and more importantly the will to put her back in service, which I hope they do.
  2. Hopefully she ll be back, hopefully this incident will lead to the re introduction of the egv and stop the high hep hours that the 201' s are suffering from.
  3. Lovely work Barl, thanks for sharing
  4. Ah not again, i keep missing her wouldn t mind but i was working over time today to pay for the little 071!!!!, have to confess i crossed the border to catch the timber today.
  5. Had a sneaky look over the wall, to find 072, 076 arrived on the timber a bit later than usual but worth the wait.
  6. Just checked Googy maps, the track is till in situ http://www.waterfordcity.ie/maps/maps.htm Just switch to satellite view. http://www.flickr.com/photos/mike65ie/2986800912/in/photolist-5xW8Rs-4KJDzd-4kadeY-4ufHtG-5xW8Rj-5xW8R9-5xW8Ro-5xW8Rd-iwQie-6Fiq2q-6LBVyJ-9EARTv-A7ssE-5eM3Qz-dohSsb-2wSN9b-9ZPbGd-4qzkwE-ag3t1U-65LrAm-2wSMxm-a16MSw-a13Wov-2fw5wD-6htuUi-8hU1e2-dYKz1X-4rvjRG-5Ek4Rf-6i7Ewi-d4y29s-7DzeKL-7DzeyY-4tVyNo-4U7tqj-6g94B1-6g955E-6g4TiP-4K4FSW-6g94Py-8oFeUo-GTAfc-9pms3t-bzKfjW-5KxiSu-5GZCZP-5PtKV-8tajju-aeeDZx-9PBUSf-52t2mo/
  7. Excellent work Popeye, really like these wagons
  8. Abbey Junction viewed from overbridge(Abbey rd) on the New Ross line, view from otherside towards Ross, surviving track heading into the port.
  9. Very few around, found a few on here, http://www.irishships.com/bell_lines.html. The tracks leading to the port were only lifted in the last few years during the track ratiónalisation work, although track is still in situ within the complex along with the gantry tracks and partially demolished buffers, they joined the Rosslare line just east of abbey junction next to the old Church of Ireland on Abbey Rd, the old semaphore poles are still there.
  10. Many thanks lads for the comments, babygm 209 is not far from the paint shop still humming and hawing about putting a 66 under the bonnet, as far as the mark 3's go i ll have to step up to the plate when it comes to the painting as it wouldn t be my strong point!!!!.
  11. Im an Abbey Park kid originally!!!!. My mother used to walk with me in the buggy past sion row every day on her way out to Johns park to drop me to the babysitters, maybe it was the sounds of the hussle and bustle of the locos going past that led me into this hobby!!! No prob Rich i m working in town again so have a lot more time. 201 underframe
  12. Did it a few years back, but definetly going to do it in stages over the next few weeks. I ll walk the alignment were possible but there will probably be a bit of cross country involved. I ve vague memories of trains on the line, over the years i lived in hope that they d run something along there to keep the lifting crew away from there but to no avail.
  13. I ve just been looking throught the loco pics have all the 071 class, missing 2x 201's 203&211, most of the 141/181's, only a few 121 & a class.
  14. Nope, but i will do something with them soon. Problem i have is trying to sort through them!!!!. If you need anything from the late 80's through to the present day give us a shout and i ll have a look through them.
  15. Rich, September 2009 was were they were scrapping the mk3's, the cement didn t have left to run, 141 was shunting and 3 071's in the yard. june 2009 was when the pic by the flour mills was taken, used to love taking pics from the overbridge or by the level crossing. It was probably the last scorching summer day we ve had since temp's in the 30's, soon after the pic was taken it was off to Bunmahon with the good lady. At the time there was 4 wheel timber, 42ft flats on the inside line waiting for the cutters torch. I have pics of the last of them before the cutter got at them!!. Caught 124 and 134 on there last run in the Waterford area a little further up towards the station. I ve pics of them unloading rail using the crane directly onto an A class pulled rail train in 1993. And sadly the last Rosslare train from Waterford more recently. It still amazes my that there is a low mac wagon under the canopy in the yard, how its survived this long is beyond me. As for a layout it would be sweet, especially in the steam era when all the facilites were in full use, along with the DSER shed, New Ross and Rosslare line.
  16. Next up on the bench is some mk 3's, RAL 2011 in the can, with white primer sprayed first. There lima mk 3's which i totally stripped down after a picked them up on the cheap from one of the uk forums(along with a rake of mk4's for less than €70!!!!). Decals to be used are from ssm mk 3 rake pack.
  17. Finished the rake of 6 , Just waiting on some couplings to complete the 47ft which will run with 4 shortened bachmann container flats until the ssm 47ft come out.
  18. Nice one Des:tumbsup:, Last parcel of goodies went down a treat, keep up the good work.
  19. Good call Noel, Please can you do the 47' Weshty? There is some 42ft still around but not on the liners, rail train, beet bogies and special ones for bogie transport. The 42ft flat is a good call though, other than the three above and the liner 42ft. The fertiliser could easily be built from weshtys 42ft chassis. Can t wait for the Ammonias:tumbsup:
