  1. I know i have posted on this thread before, but last night i went through it from start to finish all i can say is WOW, Richie the standard on this thread is incredible, well done and i think i found who ll be getting a few commissions for buildings for my layout.
  2. They look excellent Tom, can t wait to see whats on the bench next!!!
  3. This is a marvelous resource for any Irish modeller and many thanks for providing it to us. I don t think many people could miss the site as it shows up pretty high up on the auld google when you type in anything to do with Irish railways. There is i imagine quite a few other Irish modellers out there who don t join but do keep an eye on the site, i don t think we d ever get them to join as they re happy to do it their way or are part of a club and they see it as enough and they don t feel the need to join on here. On the upside the site is going from strength to strength and its good to see some quality modelling going on here as it does match or exceed the quality on any of the other "big" forums, i think its safe to say we d prefer quality over quantity any day of the week.
  4. Great news, i'd love to see the bubbles first, definetly interested in the beet wagons double height ones anyway. After that if you done the fertiliser bogies or any of the other cement wagons id definetly buy a good few off you.
  5. Looking good Boskonay, really like 077 in the new livery. Keep up the good work.
  6. Have to say i'm always amazed at the amount of locos and rolling stock that you have, lide the layout too:tumbsup:
  7. IE have advertisement boards up in Waterford station for the last few months outlining there freight capabilities bulk, container, timber etc. 223 has been turning up in Waterford quite a lot lately as railer said on freight, 209 was here regulary over the last few months as well. On the grain, i would have thought Waterford(Belview) would be easier due to the direct transfer of containers from rail to ship whereas Cork doesn t have that option unless they bring back Tivoli plus if the grain was to be exported via Belview they could use the Limerick junction-Waterford line which lets face it needs the business. I have heard that the new "boss" in IE does want locos divided into pools, passenger, freight and infrastructure & yes the 077 is only the start of it.
  8. Bought this off baby gm the other day, couldn t miss the opportunity to try the marks models version of a 201. After a little service on the chassis, i turned my attention to the body as i m trying to decide whether i ll put her in NIR livery as 209 or one of the 201 orange ones. I thought a good place to start was to strip the existing paint off and start from bare resin. After a little bath in brake fluid, this is what emerged.
  9. You'd need a crate of it to get through Wrenn's collection so!!!!
  10. We ve a nack down here for naming bridges after people(albeit with Waterford connections) from across the river, still find that "The cat flap" brings an aul smile to my face when i hear it!!!. Still can t call the "new bridge" rice bridge though(must have been the after effects of the brothers education).
  11. Good man Richie, getting a real urge to try one of those kits after seeing that. Love the weathering on her
  12. Yes delighted with it, its on the workbench while i figure out which 201 she ll become
  13. Many thanks Richie, i didn t even think i d be able to get even a portion of the great works into my space, good old google earth and eiretrains were very handy to get the plan of that part of the yard and for drawing out the shed plans, hardest part was ignoring the tranverser at the back of the sheds as id love to use the heljan one. Many thanks to boskonay for the suggestions as they make a big improvement to the general plan. Any other suggestions are very welcome:tumbsup:
  14. Played around a bit with it, 4m x 1m is the area set aside for the depot area.Total area for the layout will be 5m x 4m. The sheds are based on the southern end of Inchicore's running shed, practically everything else is condensed or remodelled to fit the space. The shed area needs to be big with the "little" loco fleet that i have;). The buildings will be scratchbuilt, the main 4 road shed will be able to accomadate up to 8 071's, 2 per road, the 2 road shed will be able to accomadate a 201 on each. I ll have various jacks, forklifts around the area and at the back there'll be a car park and a few bits of condemned stock with an excavator doing its evil deeds.
  15. Blame Boskonay for this one:D, I ve been finalising this for what seems like an age but the loco depot is here at last, well on the screen anyway:p The depot I was going to base my loco depot on Cork diesel depot but seen that Mr Scahalane (making a fantastic job of it) has it covered i went for a little part of another depot. I ll be still building Glounthaune on one side and Waterford West on the other side leading into this plan. I ll be building it in stages starting with the depot, then Glounthaune, countryside and then finally Waterford west.
