  1. Would this help Des
  2. Used to love spotting the real 112 when it was on long term loan to IE, so when the model was announced by Paddy it was on the top of the wishlist. After i gave her a good run in, i went straight onto eiretrains to see if there was any little extras i could add http://eiretrains.com/Photo_Gallery/Irish%20Locomotives/071%20Class/slides/NI112_20080513_001_CC_JA.html My one gripe with the MM071/112 is that the horns are attached already (unlike the 141/181) which didn t help with painting. The pipes came from the spares box with some of the MM ones put on as well. I ll have to get on to Georgeconna about dirtying her up a bit!!!
  3. If this is the new scheme, I really like it. It seems to bring out the best in the 071's. Plus it doesn t seem to be to hard for us to model;)
  4. Boskonay, I ll have to send one of my MIR 201's up they ll definetly be able for the full set, push or pull no prob.
  5. Ah this explains the modern IE signs on bridges on the old Dungarvan and New Ross lines. In the past parcels of the alignment of closed lines were sold to adjoining landowners at very attractive prices, this definetly happened on the cbscr between 1962 and 1966.
  6. No prob Seamus, will do

  14. Jaysus the tram and the steam roller happened on the Carrigrohane ( Straight ) rd near Cork city on the muskerry line out of the Western rd terminus. It happened on the 6/9/1927, the 745 am mixed train from Donoghmore was half way between Carrigrohane and Victoria cross, when the steam roller drove into Coach no 7 causing it to derail. Damage to the train and steam roller was considerable, incidentally no 7 was built by Cravens!!!.
  15. Nice one, Kinsale 28/1/1915 A special goods train collided with the regular 830 mixed at the platform in Kinsale, the combination of a max loaded goods train 206 tons hauled by an 0-6-0 tank and the points were set for the platform line rather than the yard. Led to the deaths of two passengers who were on the mixed train more deaths were avoided thanks to the quick reaction of the staff who managed to clear most of the passengers out of the train before impact. In the following board of trade report it emerged that the mixed train was to close to the signal and that the brakes in the special was only 7.5 tons and it was recommended to increase them to 10 tons.
  16. I ll second that kevrail
  17. Im amazed they didn t spot the Victorian era loco that was in existence in bradshaws day, or the 2 day excursions from Paddington to Killarney. Cork looked quite well in it, IE could have at least gave the cafs a clean for filming. Looking forward to seen the rest of the series.
