1. Might be a help
2. The photo was on display in Macroom in 1991 along with dozens of other photos of the line. If it is copyrighted i ll remove it, there is also another great view of the cabin in the Colm Creedon papers on the cork county library Website. I was aware of another irrs article on the line in journal 186, nice to know theres another one.
3. Macroom was all horizontal timber but had the full width balcany, in the base it had the normal window & the door was at the back. The roof detail especially in the later years was missing one of the detail bits on the roof. Main problem is the balcony was at the other side of the building if you were using this as a base model.
4. Thanks Kirley, i hope to do a bit of variety in the rake so that advice will come in handy. For anyone doing these wagons theres an excellent video of them on Eiretrains youtube channel on the Limerick to Nenagh line.
5. Back to the Park Royal , what im hoping to achieve is one of the coaches on its last legs just before retirement. One was in service in the early 1990's mixed with a rake of cravens on the Cork to Cobh line and thats what i want to model The park royal is the first carriage after the gsv.
6. Thanks robbieb:tumbsup:
7. Thanks DC for the comments, i ve a little plan to darken the curtains up a bit . The blue is 109 from humbrol but i ve faded it a little bit. I tried the revell 51 on it but i found it a tad too dark.
8. Nearly there, only a few detailing jobs left to do
9. The first one has as much of a chance at selling for that as Ireland has of winning the rugby world cup. The second one is not bad for that price
10. About €50 to €70 would be the going rate. Depends on the condition etc
11. That 201 is looking pretty sweet, the bulied wagons don t look half bad either.
12. Excellent job on the station buildings, it really does look the part.
13. http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/2451-Wagon-Kits-now-available D&m also do a kit for them, i ll be using them to build up the rake. As im building them i ll post up pics of them being built.
14. They were blue when introduced but in their later years they were pretty much black with the odd bit of blue showing through
15. Eoin, i ve a few spares off the Mallard. I ll have a look for them later on tonight to see what exactly i have.
16. Excellent news lads, its great to see this happening and im looking forward to supporting this venture.
17. Sweet job Boskonay
18. Many thanks to Eamonn and Divecontroller for the paint advice:tumbsup: . Thankfully i had both types of paint in the paint tray , i ve the base coats done so it won t be long now till its finished.
19. Many thanks Eamonn, have both of them in the paint box .
20. Eamonn, what paint did you use on the curtain side cement wagons?
21. New wagon emerging from the depot and heading to the paint shops for a lick of paint , built from an mir kit it ll be joined by a rake of d & m pallet cement kits in the next few weeks.
22. I ll take 5 please, 3 IE livery, 1 IR livery & 1 silver/yellow.. The IR one will be weathered to an inch of its life and the silver/yellow is for the preserved train with a black and tan 141 for company. The rest will be paired up nose to nose and put on beet duties and the spare one will be twinned with a baby gm.
23. Mm1529 is out since 2009, so i'd doubt its a sign
