  1. Timber, liners(pocket,47ft,42ft), bogie spoil, autoballasters, cement bubble & bogie, weedspray rake, sperry rake..... It ll keep me busy
  2. A quick visit over the border to Campile to catch some 071 action .
  3. High rates and other expenses would have a huge role in their demise as well. Unless you can get huge scale its not viable to run a successful model only shop. The days of model shops like Youngs of Fermoy etc are sadly long gone, for any shop to survive these days they must have a strong internet presence and at least another source of revenue other than models. If your lucky enough to have a shop that sells models you should support it otherwise you ll be facing long trips to get what you need or get used to relying on the internet. Getting back on point the 071's are a nice little bargain at that price, thanks for the heads up Kirley.
  4. Murphy models 186 in IE livery, renumbered using ssm decals with overhead flashes added. Roof aerials and front pipes added. Looking for 115 euro plus postage.
  5. There was 3 of the murphy coal wagons on one of the facebook selling pages for a TENNER a few weeks ago, a very nice bargain if there ever was one . as for hoarding stock whats wrong with it, it creates demand which in turn may lead to more models been produced.
  6. A few more piccys , hats off on the layout Patrick it really does look like a little piece of the Deise countryside.
  7. Model Irish Railways 205 River Nore or 212 River Slaney , powered by a bachmann cl 66 chassis with added studio scale models detail pack. €100 plus postage.
  8. excellent job kirley they look the business
  9. Not a whole lot happening on the bench lately but there has been a few new arrivals. 4 x pocket wagons & a mk 3 egv Timber wagons are progressing well with only a few minor jobs left to do
  10. It was definetly €30 when the link was put up Mr Wrenneire...
  11. I fail to see how thats worth €30!!!
  12. In my view it makes or breaks a layout especially one that is based on a particular area. West Waterford compared to East Waterford are totally different especially railway wise, for example the Tramore to Waterford line architecture is different even down to gate posts, the local geography is radically different even down to the rock type which does effect the building of lines especially with cuttings and embankments. West Waterford was heavily effected by glaciation which leads to deep valleys whereas East Waterford was much more effected by an earlier period which goes back to the jurassic period. Look at the cliffs over Sallypark for example the ancient rock folds are visible.
  13. Plenty of ditches normally most stone walls are loose stone usually grey
  14. Cork kent between the station and the main depot, Tivoli looking west and east, ballinacourty last 4 pics & pic 3 & 4
  15. Mark 1 gsv, loco normally a baby gm. The cobh line had park royals among the cravens in the early 1990's.
  16. The shapeways 121 will need a lot of work to make it look right plus the chassis donors available don t quite measure up. At 84 bucks plus chassis, decals, paints, lights etc it may end up been quite expensive. As for the silverfox a & c class i wouldn t bother with them and theres been plenty of discussions on here in the past about their downfalls Without the studio scale models detail pack they just don t look right. 141/181's are fairly easily picked up at shows, on the for sale part of this site or i'm sure Mr Bracken would know were a few are for sale. The G class are available from dc kits and silverfox, 071's are still available as well.
