  1. Is there a web link to it?
  2. He'll likely sell one J15 kit to me because I want to try @Mayner's Z boiler conversion kit
  3. If the David Quayle photo of 171 is anything to go by, I'd have thought the patch left by the nameplate would have remained visible even under grime. That might suggest Ernie's b&w photo might be 170 rather than 171....
  4. Which one had lost its plates by then?
  5. I'd be interested in snack 1508. I'm in London, so UK postage only to worry about.
  6. I wouldn't say no, but I'm not sure about the logistics of that. I'm still after the original Cravens RPSI set.
  7. Occurs to me that the 500 class looks a little bit like the Urie/Maunsell S15 4-6-0, albeit with Belpaire firebox....
  8. The grime is so bad that there isn't even a tell-tale patch where the nameplate might have been.
  9. With those very substantial frames in front, that looks very "S" class to me, but which one? The camera has picked up the suggestion of a number under the cabside grime. Zooming in, I thought it might even be 171, but did she ever work through Portadown?
  10. I'm still looking as well.
  11. I've only seen Ballyconnell Road twice at shows. Everything on it just works, especially the signalling. The first time I watched it, I spotted something going on between the loco frames. It turned out to be working inside motion....in 3mm scale. If it can be done in 3mm, sure there's no excuse for not having a go in 4mm.
  12. Very curious - no prices or starting bid showing up on either chassis
  13. That little lot will probably be returned to The Monk.
  14. For those going down the dead scale P87 standards route, the track gauge used is 18.37mm, which gives a true 5'3". Obviously the checkrail and flangeway gaps are much tighter.
  15. There's a couple of differences between the 372s and 393s. Whilst the wheelbases are shared at 7'3" x 8'3", plus the wider overall width compared to the Southern Railway Ns and Us, there's also: - 372s: 5ft 6in drivers; 393s: 6ft drivers 393s had a deeper drop in the footplate in order to maintain the same buffer centre heights as the 372s, plus small splashers over the topsof the drivers.
  16. Is that the same signal design that was used on the Cheshire Lines Committee?
  17. Especially if you have an interest in French steam design....
  18. That looks excellent Are we able to determine exactly what type of large tender is paired with 186? It's very modern for an engine which is fundamentally very old. I thought it was something which might, at one stage, have been paired with a 400/500 class 4-6-0.
  19. It was probably trying to be a GWR Bulldog.
  20. Sure ye'd be like Bertie Ahern or one of those fellas. He didn't have a bank account either, 'cos he could cash a £38,000 cheque at his local bar....
  21. That book is the only place where you'll see a table of all the differences in measurements, grouped together in an easy-to-read format, and much of that is derived from an earlier work by Peter Rowledge (I think)
  22. I'll review the bank statement when the debit is made....
  23. Pencil me in for the RPSI Park Royals. Also, will the Commonwealth bogies be available as spares? I have an IFM resin Park Royal here which could do with correct Commonwealths.....
  24. Way above my income bracket
