  1. Innovative engineering.
  2. Thanks Weshty. It's good to know some of the unsung heroes of Irish Railway Modelling. I totally agree he is a suburb designer and as I go through the build I marvel at the approach he makes at putting models together for people of a wide range of modelling skills. I would recommend his designed kits to anyone who wishes to tackle a brass coach.
  3. I am currently building an SSM brass kit of a Bredin Parcel/Brake Van. Photographs of the completed model are on SSM Site built by a Eamon Kerney. I note on the brass etch his names appears also. Has anyone any information on this obviously very talented Model Maker? I must mention this is an excellent kit.
  4. Having built one of these using Colm Flanagan's method, I'm looking forward to seeing your approach. Keep the pictures coming please.
  5. Excellent, I thought someone would have a go at an opening door. It just adds to the realism.
  6. Superb Eoin, just superb!
  7. The Tanks are 6.5 x 2.5 mm. These measurements are taken from Glendergs models and I would say they are fairly accurate.
  8. They are Piko wagons, hacked into the shape of the NIR ones and bits added to them. PM sent
  9. Andy, the models are suppose to represent the current NIR Ballast Wagons
  10. NIR Ballast Wagons being pulled by GM 112.
  11. Great finish to the Wagon Nelson
  12. Thanks Weshty. Can you put up some photos of brass brake wire protectors when you get it done please?
  13. Nice job Weshty, I still have to build mine. Thanks in anticipation for the measurements, that will be very helpful. Soldering the staples together before shaping might be an option.
  14. Tidy detailed work Nelson.
  15. Admin. Is it possible to set up this list so that anyone can add to it, that way it could continue to reflect all the vast knowledge that Site members hold?

  17. Not an easy decision to take Noel to change your track plan but I suppose it was better to do it at this early stage of the build. Obviously 'running trains' is your main priority and the new layout should facilitate that.
  18. Busy, busy Workbench, quite a production line you have going there.
  19. Excellent painting skills on the 201, doing templates for it must have been a nightmare. Class finish on the Gen Vans.
  20. Great photographs John, thanks for sharing.
  21. Engineering excellence Eoin.
  22. Good luck on the new venture, based on what you have already done, it can only be something to look forward too.
  23. Excellent job on the wagons Nelson.
  24. Sorry I can't be with you on Saturday, sounds like a lot of fun, looking forward to hearing reports and the pictures of course.
  25. Love your Cement Tanks area and I see you got the 'Control Tower' worked in, well done. The ballasting really 'grounds' the layout if you know what I mean and you well deserve a bit of train running time after that tedious job.
