  1. We are very lucky to have an abundance of riches at the moment I was lucky to pick up a few of the JM Designs covered vans and 20T Guards Vans and would buy another one or two brakes if they become available again . With the addition of the fitted and unfitted standard H Van I would imagine both the 20T & 30T CIE brake vans would see an upsurge in demand if made available again .

  7. Sorry to hear this John , look after yourself and none of us are invincible and sometimes things like this happen to help remind us .
  8. Its certainly the best picture showing the close up of 001s number I think the only A class to have highlighted front numbers.
  9. lovely weathering job
  10. Yes having the meetings online and access to the fabulous photo archive online are game changing for those living outside Dublin or further a field.
  11. The only A class I can remember was class leader 001 with highlighted front numbers And a number if the 141/181 class had them but disappeared in the late 1980's But strangely enough in the late 1990's 201 class 202 was involved in a collision with none other than loco 182 and it sustained front end damage and was repaired at Inchicore and was returned to traffic with highlighted front numbers at one end . 18. Photo below a 30001 series 42' container flat as built 1971
  19. One of my own 30001 LP wagons (shapeways) with Cambrian Model rail ride control bogies and round buffers as built in 1971 .
  20. Here are some pictures of 30091 in Mallow in 2019 prior to it being scrapped. You can clearly see the checker plate floor so you won’t be able to see the ribs anyway .
  21. The IRM model is based on the later LP wagon which has the Sambre et Meuse bogies the earlier wagons had the Ride control bogies so the SSM model or shapeways one with bogies from Cumbrian model rail might be the better option .
  22. Here is a page from modern railways 1972 with a couple of other interesting wagons.
