  1. With the arrival of the Park Royals this week here is the only picture I have seen of them with a G class a good size train for a G class a HV (heating Van ) ,PR coach ,LV (luggage Van and two 12 Ton covered wagons ,
  2. This would certainly tick a number of boxes to utilise the tri angulated underframes and 8'0" Commonwealth bogies on the Park Royals and run behind the 800 class my suggestion would be the 1372-1378 standard class side corridors and the 2137-2161(1633 survives at Dunsandle station) side corridors built in 1954 and would have possibly run behind the 800's on occasion and a brake standard to go with them would be 1904-1908 built 1953/54 of which 1906 and 1907 had commonwealth bogies or 1909-1913 brake standards bult 1959 . If a Buffet car was needed 2420-2422 built 1956( 2421 is at Maam Cross and 2422 is in Whitehead) . 1909-1913 brake standard behind the loco
  3. The 2162 - 2171 were suburban composites and used a lot in the Dublin area including the Harcourt Street line the seat arrangement was unusual in that the 1st class was 4 seats per bay and the standard class were 6 seats per bay similar to the Park Royal’s , they were later de classified 1601-1610 and eventually converted to brake standards 1914 -23 two of which survived into preservation 1916 at Maam cross and 1918 at Downpatrick . Some footage of them in this on the Harcourt line .
  4. The one major difference between the Laminates and the Park Royal’s is the end profile which is very different.
  5. I think I got the last two Laminates off him about a month ago they were not complete just the sides and ends I will have to produce my own under frames for them . I did ask if anyone was taking over but he has had no offers yet.
  6. The older Murphy Models 141/181 are fitted for DCC but are not fitted with speakers you would have to do that yourself .
  7. Can’t see it flying of the shelves at those prices especially to the Emerald Isle when you add Vat and customs charges.
  8. Obviously the wagon started out as oo guage and were transporting Genetically modified grain and they grew ……..
  9. I was watching that last night and thought if you were watching always a surprise what pops up at these shows .
  10. They look fine are they worlsey works laminates?
  11. Well there is eighteen 071 class .
  12. I always thought that the should have painted some of the 071 class in the colours and crest of the constituent companies that form the railway of today so DSER , GNR ,GS&WR , GSR and MGWR SLNCR etc similar to the fallen flag scheme the Union Pacific did a few years ago.
  13. Don’t have any B&T A class but have a spare A12 Grey and yellow front or Supertrain 027 I would swap .
  14. Well a good opportunity for the new any potential owner to open a coffee shop for the Greenway
  15. Irish freight Models did a very good 3D triangulated underframe on the TPO , laminate and Park Royal they were producing.
  16. Thanks Mayner slowly getting there . I used A Mjt 8’0 bogie frame and I got the bogie sides from Murrayec A printed bogie would be also a great addition I was looking at Dart castings site over the weekend and note they are no longer supplying to the Republic of Ireland or Nothern Ireland due to the new identity of material sources rule for items being supplied into the EU . This is very inconvenient for modelling. I was also wondering if Irm would be selling the 8’0 commonwealth bogies as an accessory when the Park Royal’s arrive .
  17. Here is the Worsley works Laminate I am working on at the moment I used a comet Mk1 aluminium roof which I widened a 3d printed roof would be a easier option
  18. That's fantastic John I am currently building a Laminate I have done a roof by using the comet method cutting it down the centre of a comet roof and widening the roof as you did some time ago when building one . This is certainly the better option and a lot easier preference is without ribs . I will contact Paul and he is more than welcome to use my partially built one to size it up.
  19. I didn’t reply to his posting it sounded a little strange especially not posting up a list with prices as they say if it sounds too good to be true …………
  20. Very saddened to learn of Paddy Murphy’s passing my condolences to his family and friends. Like so many I was interested in modelling Irish Railways in my formative years but there wasn’t the realistic stock available so I put my interest to one side and then Paddy came along with his collaboration with Bachman to produce firstly the Mk2a coaches and then the 141/181 locomotives and the rest is history. Modellers of Irish Railways certainly owe a debt of gratitude to Paddy Murphy .
  21. Don’t forget their a a nice few drawings on the resources section of this site including the Dutch Vans and laminates .
